Zanetti will retire this summer as arguably the greatest player Inter have ever had.
He will also hang up his boots as one of the most universally respected footballers the sport has ever had the pleasure of seeing.
If you hate this guy, you should go and consult a doctor, you need serious mental help!

What a legend. Takes massive amounts of dedication and talent to perform at such a consistent basis for so long at the top level. He deserves all the accolades. I hope he goes into managing one day, because I'd like to see him replicate Mourinho's treble at Inter.
Now that he will retire, he can firmly be stated to be one of the greatest players to ever don Inter Milan's shirt.

Inters greatest player right here, so glad he was here when we won Il Triplete in 2010...a true role-model and will never be forgotten. GRANDE IL PUPI ZANETTI !!

legend. such a committed and dedicated player. world of football will miss this kind of players. a true Inter flag, and a gentleman on the pitch. i think i got one red card in his whole career?
furthermore, he never changed his hairstyle, and that's quite something too.

It was a wonderful and memorable last home game for IL CAPITANO. 19 seasons and 857 appearances, he has given his all and best. The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza sold out! Amazing atmosphere. Milito and Samuel's last home game too! Inter legends who have worn the Inter shirt with pride and honour! The whole squad gave 100% tonight. Watching Zanetti run up that touchline tonight flooded my mind with many amazing moments he has done it. Like a fine wine, he just kept getting better with age. Although he hangs up his boots at the end of the season. He will remain part of the Inter family. This time as sporting director. I'll never forget this night for the rest of my life. Grazie mille IL Capitano, IL Principe, IL Muro. Inter Legends forever!!

It's because this fan base is mostly English speaking members, and mostly PL fans. People care about Zanetti, even if they don't care for Inter. Respect has to be given to Javier because he's earned it. Don't be afraid to make a thread if it contributes to the forum. :)
