They both certainly help with quick decision-making and and incredible amount of ball control. It's the reason you see so many fantastic Brazilian dribblers. Ronaldinho, Garrincha, and Ronaldo were all avid futsal and beach football players.

Creative Football is the future...
If Fusbal and Beach football are essential in developing great talent why it is not used by Europeans ? I say whole England team should go practice on the beach from now on :D
BOTH, strongly.
@Marcus2011 weather ... (beach football) Futsal is played, but not enough.

Yes. Both are effective. In Futsal you can show abilities and improve them easier; in beach football, you can improve your ball control and progress dribbling with the hard way.

European football style involves more tactical discipline. That's why South Americans have to get "used" to European football. South Americans are all about flair and show-boating, but the tactical and positional mindset is not taught there to the extent that it is in Europe. For example, Messi may be South American, but was trained in Europe. His tactical sense is top class, but he doesn't boast that much flair. Compare him to someone like Bernard or Neymar, who were trained in South America, those two have more flair than him, but less tactical awareness. Futsal and beach football are essential for ball control, but it is not possible to work with tactics in either of those sports. Plus, there's also the weather problem in England. England doesn't have the hot climate that Brazil does, and London is famous for having high and frequent precipitation (lots of "big" clubs in London...... and Manchester is an industrial city for the most part). Futsal is possible, but again, it's only 5 v 5, and does not involve positional play.

We used to do at least one or two practice session a week playing futsal 6 on 6 . Our college was 6 time national champion among other colleges . Mixture of South American , European , Asian , American and African players . Futsal was essential to our training just as outside field football was essential to our game . So, from my experience I only saw positives of having a Futsal sessions in weekly training . I saw improvements every week .

I remember playing for my school team in the final of my county's (as in: region or state, for those who are not familiar with what a British county is) futsal tournament, back when I was 11 years old.
It was sponsored by McDonalds, of all things. We even won our local 11 v 11 football league a lot, back then, despite being a really small, local school.
Wish I had gone to a secondary school that had football teams instead of rugby teams. :(

Ive heard that Futsal is their secret for a long time now. And it is probably true.
@lodatz
You still play football ?
Alas, no. Though I do like to dribble around the house and avoid letting the ball touch any walls, etc. ;)
I've considered filming it and putting it on YouTube, just for fun.
