I watched this video

(titled "Is Cristiano Ronaldo Selfish?")
But I still think Cristiano Ronaldo is selfish.
Let me hear about your opinion to Cristiano Ronaldo
(Real Madrid fan)

All the best players are a little selfish, even Messi. Because they know that if they are on the ball, or taking the finish, they have a higher chance of making something happen. In fact, you WANT strikers to be selfish usually, or they begin to pass up chances. This usually happens when a striker is out of form so they being to trust themselves a little less.

The only time it becomes a problem is when it hurts the team because the player is not as good as they perceive that they are. At this point, it begins to hurt the team. However, because the player in question, Ronaldo, is so good, being selfish helps both him, and Madrid.

Is he selfish? Heck yeah he is. Is it bad for Real? Nope! Like Sunflash said, he is of a level where it benefits the team to have that characteristic.

I would like to add that he does impact the team in the locker room, just the team as a whole is so solid, it won't show as quick or as deep as it would have on another team. When you get mad that you did not get to score, and not celebrate with your mates when THEY do, that eventually will break things down. I can bet, years down the road, lots will be said about CR7, positive and negative from the players and coaches around him. The fan's opinions are what they are, but when your own teammates speak out, that has more meaning.

You are allowed to be selfish when you can do what he does. Like @SunFlash said, all the greats are selfish to a degree.

@Dynastian Sadly, there's time when not just the great are selfish, I'm thinking of some player who are way too direct and shoot at the keeper instead of the goal.

From 'neutral' point of view, some people hate Ronaldo because of his Body Language. If you see his reaction when he was disappointed (defeated, not scoring, not passed) he'll get mad to his teammates, this is unacceptable attitude. And he also doesn’t want to celebrate his teammate’s goal.. this is soo childish..

Cristiano revels in hate. The more people hate him the better he plays. Selfish or not.
