Intercontinental Derby

For anyone who has interest in this match. Galatasaray - Fenerbahçe promo :

The greatest derby in the world football. (Barcelona - Real Madrid is not a derby).
It's always hard to predict Turkish derbies because it doesnt matter which team is playing better or has more class. Usually it ends up with the team who has home advantage.
But my prediction is for Fenerbahçe . 1-2 for me :)

Any predictions?

The greatest derby in the world football ? Ever hear of- Roma v Lazio, Milan v Inter, Boca Juniors v River Plate, Schalke v BVB, Liverpool v Everton, Arsenal v Spurs, Sporting v Benfica, ManU v Man City.
No offence to you or Turkish football. I'm sure the Istanbul derby is great but no way is it the best derby. I just can't watch a full Turkish league game without getting a headache from all the whistling from the fans every time the opposition have the ball. It's really annoying!
Anyways, my prediction will be 2-1 to Gala mainly because I like to see Sneijder and Drogba on the winning side..

I respect to your opinion but actually its not just my opinion. Many sport writers or sport sites approve this match for the biggest derby. And about whistling ; that's why we call Turkish stadiums "Hell"
And you can be sure, I know about all these matches, I watched every one of them

What sport writers are this? Yes, "Hell" for me to watch, because my head hurts after. Boca and River has similar intensity without the whistling.. I'm sure people who watched Gala v Chelsea 1st leg this season did not appreciate this "Hell." One thing to support your team with chants another to make deafening whistling for 90 mins.
For me it's the equivalent of vuvuzelas in WC 2010. And they weren't even doing it to intentionally irritate people. Just a strange tradition. In Turkey the whistling is to make peoples ears bleed so they can't score.

I have never watched turkish fotball, tell me what is the best factor of the game when theese two meet? Is it the speed of play, the rivalry, the way the play? What makes this game the best derby?

@messi6511 it's about the Rivalry, Passion, Aggression, Atmosphere, Fights and the most important History between these two. For example Galatasaray-Chelsea match wasnt more important than this. In this kind of derbies both teams play way better than usual matches.

@Wolfie Have you ever been in Turkish stadium live ? That's not much of a big deal like you said "ears bleed" . You dont have to stretch. It just puts a pressure to the away team. And about Derby, if you think derby means both teams should be very good teams then you are wrong. For example Celtic-Rangers or Partizan-Red Star Belgrad matches are two of the biggest derbies, its about like I said before, history and rivalry between teams.

@Iraqi_Madridista I hope Fener wins too :) because we want to be 2nd so we will be in CL groups next year, I will support Fenerbahçe. Galatasaray is not like they were last year and Fenerbahçe is even better than last year. Both teams were 10th in UEFA 2012-2013 Club standings with 22400 points.

BTW 2weeks later there is Beşiktaş-Fenerbahçe match in Turkish League. That's also an intercontinental derby.

^They are not guilty actually. UEFA banned them because of suspicions of Turkish Football Federation. But there is no proof. Fenerbahçe president charged for match fixing but they couldnt prove it so he is not even in jail. And Former Galatasaray player Hakan Şükür said : I dont believe that news Fenerbahçe did match fixing ; or even a Galatasaray board member said the same thing. It's something between Turkish goverment and Fenerbahçe president and Turkish prime Minister's voice tape came up in Youtube about this. There are big things going on but I dont understand. I'm with Fenerbahçe about this. :)

And the goverment blocked Youtube because of this I upload the promo video by using VPN, temporary. I still cant open Youtube

^ Hmm... Yes big shocking story , alot of Turkish friends of mine say to me that the Fener president is also a maffia boss in Turkey and he is a very big criminal. Anyways i hope Fener will play CL they are way better then Gala now. And Besiktas should try to qualify for the CL otherwise they have to play in the EL ;)

We can easily be 2nd if Gala keeps play like this :D and if we're 3rd we will start from 3rd Knockout Stage of CL so we still have chance for CL :D

We have different opinions on what makes a good derby. A derby is the rivalry on the pitch not how much distraction fans make. Turkish "support" if can call it that takes my all attention away from the game.
Many times away fans have been stabbed and injured by these fanatical "fans." Act more like lunatics than fans. Maybe it's a different mentality but for sure it's not normal. These are the many little things that stop Turkey getting into European union. That culture just doesn't belong in Europe.

First of all maybe Turkish goverment wants or needs EU I dont know about that but I know this Turkish people dont want to get into EU.
And about stabbing it was in 2000 against Leeds by Galatasaray fans, and 3 years ago a Fenerbahçe fan stabbed by a Galatasaray fan. It's Galatasaray' s fanatical fans. You are right I dont like many of them. Stabbing is not a normal thing of course but you can't judge all of us for that. Is stabbing for football happening only in Turkey? It's happening everywhere

@Wolfie , dude first of all you dont watch the Turkish league so please keep it quiet ;) and 2nd , dont bring cultures and nationalties here , because there are so many people from all over the world here in Footyroom you have to respect each other and not be a racist idiot , and 3rd who cares about politics its always sneaky and its always about money. Thats why my background country (Iraq) got wrecked by Americans all because of politics. :/ Thank You.

@Emrecan- Stabbings happen a lot more in Turkey than anywhere else I can think of. It has to do with this extreme support that has been allowed to spin out of control. In Italy the fans battle with tifosi banners where they mock each other with chants but it doesn't distract or ever lead to people getting stabbed.

@ Iraqi boy. You seem to think you are such a clever little troll, huh? "Don't bring culture and nationalities here". That's rich coming from an ignorant fool like you who is constantly harassing people in this forum every single day. "A racist idiot" please stand up and go find a mirror. In the reflection you'll find your racist idiot. How about you just go back to doing what you do best. Trolling the highlights, talkroom or making nonsensical childish hate filled comments about peoples clubs in this forum.
I ignored you for a long time to see if the mods would shut you up. But is seems they have given you a very long leash indeed. You think people can't see through this little act of yours? You're not fooling anyone.
