Alexis last season was promising, he learned a lot and seemed able to fight for a starting place under pressure, i think he would reach 18 goals with an in form Ozil and Cazorla, if he flops i would be shocked.

@tiki I'm really not worried about alexis, it's just a good illustration of how the english press likes to belittle our players all the time. And yes my prediction for him was 15+ league goals and 8+ league assists. These would be good stats for a first season in a new league.

@KingHenry

Those were his stats in La Liga last season. 19 goals, and 10 assists. If you believe that it will take time for him to adapt, shouldn't you lower your expectations a bit?

@dynastian On the contrary I think he won't have too much trouble adapting to the league. I think he'll be just like Cazorla and hit the ground running.

Normally Spanish (or played in La-Liga) players take less time to adapt to EPL, that's fact. I dont think Alexis would have any problem adapting... Im quite scare of time when he has on-form Ozil more than of Costa.

Cazorla to me is quite overrated...

Where is Ramsey in this picture? the injury prone is Walcott for sure, and despite most of it is true from Media's view, noone in the right mind would put Ramsey in here, not this way xD. Now that Arsenal has the former "German' national physio". Ramsey will be a beast.

Shit : Giroud
Won't adapt : Alexis
Injury prone : Walcott
Overrated : Ozil
One hit wonder : Ramsey
Not a DM : Arteta/Wilshere
Injury prone : Gibbs
Overrated : Koscielny
Slow as fuck : Mertesacker (can't really argue with this one)
Sagna was better : Debuchy
Could be better : Szczesny

@tuan !!!!! Cazorla overrated !!!!! noooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!!! He had a great great first season, he was our best player that year. The second season unfortunately he started with a long injury and he never really hit form after that. I hope he'll have a great 3rd season because when he's on form.... Omg is he fun to watch

uhmn, he is to me... when I watch La Liga, I can see loads of similar players, he's good but he's not that great. He has good technique, but he is no where near the guy who can turn the match around or having spectacular performance day in day out (Cecs or Ramsey for example). But again, that's my opinion.

See that's exactly the point. You don't watch every arsenal game I suppose. So you hear about us from the press. And the press loooooves saying that we are ****, it's what everyone likes to hear and wants to read in the papers. He is somewhat similar to a few players in England and Spain, but he's one of the best at what he does when he's on his game. He did get the arsenal player of the season award for 12/13. Also he is the most two footed player I've ever seen. I know this is only a highlights video but please let me try to convince you.

@Gustavo is right; you're far from the media's scapegoat. If anything, you guys are the most admired team in London. Stating that the press loves saying your shite is farfetched. From what I've seen, the only thing they like to make fun of relating to Arsenal is Wenger, and that's because he is easy to toy with.

Prejudice from opposing fans is a different thing, but it's not uncommon. Who's team doesn't get unthoughtful and bias criticisms?

@KH: right, mate. I dont watch a lot of Arsenal's games for sure, but those games I watched, he's way too ordinary (similar to a decent-good Spanish players). I know he has his brilliant moment no doubt about it, and I agree if he keeps perform like this it's really enjoyable to watch.

Beside, I dont base my opinion on how press paint someone. In fact, from the press I know that Cazorla is one of the Arsenal brightest star with all the hypes and stuff, (not wrong though - related to Arsenal part). That's why I said he's quite overrated (not entirely).

He needs to perform in big games much more than what he does now in my opinion.

Btw, lolllllz this video shows how wasteful and sucky your strikers were. :D:D:D no offense

@tuan agreed on the strikers part..... I wish we had strikers of the caliber of rooney/RVP. But walcott getting back and sanchez coming in the equation will hopefully fix that issue we have with finishing.

Cazorla was at his best during his time at Villareal. He had the movement and the talent around him to play to the best of his abilities. That Villareal team was the closest anyone had ever come to Barcelona's tiki-taka, and they were astounding. One of the most pleasing teams I have ever watched play. Cazorla was a key member of that team, and the closest he had come to replicating that form was his first season at Arsenal (which was better than his season at Malaga).

He's a good midfielder, but obviously far from the best. I think he's rated just fine.

KingHenry who cares if the media don't give us credit. It's better off not receiving credit otherwise the whole team will become complacent. Just look at Liverpool last season , pundits never even expected Liverpool to finish top 4 but look at them at the end of the season almost winning the league and proved millions of doubters wrong. If a team gets credited a lot , the team will be under pressure to perform their best which will knock off their concentration . Let's just hope Arsenal prove many doubters wrong next season because I'm confident we can prove these clueless journalists and pundits .

That's quite hilarious pic : D it has become quite funny how much media hates Arsenal, nonetheless it really doesn't matter. Real fans will stay real fans despite what has been said in media.

@dynastian I don't understand why he should lower his expectations. In Arsenal, there's no Messi who does make the difference there. Also I believe Sanchez will play striker most of the time for Arsenal (atleast Wenger said so) when he played winger all the time for Barca. Like me and my mates have many times noticed, when you're striker, you'll kinda automatically get goals & assists if you have great players around. Benzema is great example.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter how many goals&assists he does as long as he contributes positively for the team and the team is winning.
