I'm surprised no one's written about this yet. Thomas Hitzlsperger recently has announced that he is gay. Honestly I hope this causes a shift in attitude towards gay folks in our sport. For all it's pride in equality and anti racism there's still so much opposition towards gay folks in football. Other than Hitzlsperger, I wonder how many more footballers are being forced to hide in the closet pretending to be who they're not. I applaud Hitzlsperger for his courage.

*For the sake of counter arguments I'm not spreading homosexual propaganda and neither am I asking people to turn gay or support them. You're entitled to your opinion and so am I. Peace!
