Higuain , a great name and a lucky player but is he really that good?

He started off in Madrid around a group of players that you cant look bad with , Then he moved on to Napoli and isnt proving to be as lethal as everyone really thought. As for Argentina , same case applys in where he is around what can be called the strongest attacking force in the world. As a napoli fan , i really find him a lazy player until it comes to big games , which is not what a player is made out of. What do you think

He was never used to his full potential. Higuain is certainly one of the best forwards in the game for the last 5 years, but he suffered an unnatural accident with his back that robbed him of his speed ever since. If you saw Higuain when he was young, you'd think that you were watching the new Thierry Henry. His speed, dribbling, and finishing were immaculate, but his injury hindered his abilities. He's never recovered from that back injury. I know this first-hand since I saw him for about 2 years before he got injured (around 2010), and then watched him until 2013, when he left Madrid.

Higuain is not the best but he is class and is somewhere in the top 5-10 #9 in the world.

Welcome to FR! I don't think that he is that much class, he was good in some periods, but now he isn't best. He can make himself better in my opinion.

Higuain, was one of the best strikers in the world during the 2009-2010 season. And was amazing in the 2010 World Cup scoring 4 goals and the only hattrick in the tournament. Then, he suffered from a back injury, which kept him out of the pitch for more than 6 months. He lost a bit of his attributes, but was still very good, and I'd take him any day over Benzema. He is good with Napoli, Serie A is a pretty tough league for strikers, but he still manages to score a lot and assist as well. He is VERY good, if anything, he has been unlucky because Florentino prefered Benzema for the single fact that Florentino bought Karim, while Calderon bought Higuain.

@RM17

Perez has no diction over choices like that. He wanted Benzema to play, but Mourinho gave them equal playing time anyways. Under Pellegrini, Higuain was first-choice. Perez has more authority over his 'superstars', such as Bale and Ronaldo. Players like Ramos and Benzema aren't as significant to him.

Trust me when I say Benzema is one of the players Florentino likes the most. Obviously not over Bale and CR7, but still.

Being inconsistent has killed him, he is a player of moments. Recently he was doing terrible with Napoli but for the past few games he got his form back and started playing great again.

p.s. Can anyone see my P. Picture? I still see a black square...

Many strikers struggled in Seria A . It is very difficult place to be a striker . He has 10 goals under his name , he is doing decent for world class striker .
