One of my favorite players . Now days he would have been called Gatuso " The C8nt" who should be banned from football and never be allowed to play .

Defensive midfield destroyers have by and large been replaced by deep-lying playmakers these days. The increase in fouls following midfield challenges has made players in the role of Gatuso no longer profitable for the teams that employ them.

Unless the way the games are called alters, it is likely that players such as Gatuso will never be used again.

Sucks really, I enjoy a good midfield battle.

Gattuso was bloody aggressive but hella entertaining to watch. I hope Verratti ends up being the Pirlo-Gattuso hybrid that he's showing promise to being. Aggressive, talented, energetic, intelligent, and with a tinge of "umph" in his tackles.
