Goodbye Legend

I'd like to take this moment to honor a player that has been with us for 25 years. Iker Casillas has, in those 25 years, played for Real Madrid's C team, B team, and the first team. With the first team, he has made 725 appearances, the 2nd highest in our club's history. Casillas has also won 5 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Rey's, 4 Supercopa de Espana's, 2 UEFA Super Cup's, 1 Club World Cup, 1 Intercontinental Cup, and most importantly, 3 Champions League titles. He has been the undisputed 1st choice keeper for the majority of his career at Real, and fully deserved any and all accolades. Iker's determination to be the best and his attitude towards his teammates and other professionals has been impeccable. Thank you legend for being dedicated for our club for so long, and I'm very sorry we couldn't have given you the farewell you truly deserve.

Valdes refused to sign another contract, and prefered to sign a final lucrative contract with Monaco, that was his choice to leave so there was no need to thank him. I guess he didnt liked that Neymar signed with the same wages he had that time while he did a lot of sacrifices and hard work to reach those kind of wages...

Valdes is old and not as good as Casillias was. I think he needs to retire now, he is kind of useless now.

How can Casillas's mother say FCPorto is a third class club. We won twice the European League (1987 and 2004) and the World Cup twice also in Japan. In between there's a European Superleague, UEFA Cup twice and many national titles. The country may be of the third class, not the club.

A Porto fan, awesome, welcome :) Regarding that comment from the mom, she has already apologized and said she didn't mean what she said. Everyone knows Porto isn't a 3rd tier club but she was just frustrated in the moment with how some in RM had treated her son and took it out on Porto, which was unfortunate.

Porto are definitely not a 3rd class club. Like @VAMOSBenfica said, it was said out of frustration. Also keep in mind that despite Casillas being one of the sport's greatest ever players, his mother is not loosely related to the sport in any way, and her opinions on FC Porto should not be taken too seriously.
