Goal of the Week (Ending Oct 4) (League)

Tottenham Hotspur, England 150 4992

Hey everyone!

Back again with another GOTW. Honestly with this many games taking place at this time of year, we've got so many goals and awesome goals to sift through, so, until around February, when the European schedule calms down a bit, I'm going to break the goals into League and Europe threads, so we can vote for both!

So, here we go. In the top European leagues we were served up a feast of quality this week, and some stand-out include some sweet free-kicks, come great first-touches, and some excellent build-up play. But it's the wonderful shots that get the blood pumping more than anything else, so, the top 3 are from that.

But here are some honorable mentions:

ELIA (Werder Bremen) vs FC Nuremburg
LEWANDOWSKI (Borussia Dortmund) vs Freiburg
LJAJIC (AS Roma) vs Bologna
GERVINHO (AS Roma) vs Bologna
ITURBE (Verona) vs Livorno
MESSI (Barcelona) vs ALmeria
JAIRO (Sevilla) vs Real Sociedad
LAMBERT (Southampton) vs Crystal Palace
AMALFITANO (West Brom) vs Manchester United
MUTCH (Cardiff City) vs Fulham

And now.. the Top 3...

  1. RUIZ (Fulham) vs Cardiff City

Absolutely superb shot from just outside the box. Look at the curl on that one -- simply beautiful technique!

I know, I know! It's like the world has ended. But, it really was a fantastic goal, bursting along the wing, dribbling his way into the area and then blasting past the keeper with precision.

Forget Mikel and Ramsey. THIS is the reason the world's gone crazy!

  1. CAYABE (Newcastle Utd) vs Everton

Beauty of a shot from 25 yards out; perfect precision. No wonder half the teams in the PL have been sniffing around him!

Jordan mutch's goal was Better than Ruiz's goal. It was more harder, with his weaker foot and his first goal for Cardiff :)
