Gary neville to ..... VALENCIA !!

someone who doesn't speak the language, hasn't played in La Liga, or actually managed a club before and going to manage one of the most difficult clubs to run on the planet

This is going to be... interesting

obviously gary's challenge will be finishing in a top 4 position this season with valencia and qualifying to the next stage of ucl or going to EL and perform good .
but was neville the right choice or will end like moyes did?

^ added the pic in your post, was just about to make a thread about this myself :)

it is indeed interesting. unfortunately those who follow the EPL lose the most neutral and prepared pundit in the biz.

Was really shocked to read the news - couldn't believe my eyes what I saw.

Really happy for him, wishing good luck.

Skysports is dead to me now because when i listen to Carragher and Henry analysis , something slowly dies within me .

This going to be interesting to see how he applies himself .

Wow good for him, definitely a good start for a managerial career.

Hope he does well. He's the best pundit I've ever heard. SkySports is going to be painful to watch now with Carragher there...

Something many people don't know is that Phil (Garry's brother) has been out assistant coach with Nuno. So we have the brothers coaching our team. I think we can regain some form but I'm very sad to see Nuno get fired so fast. He did great last year and he couldn't incorporate some of the players that were brought in on the crazy transfer window. From what I know Nuno wasn't fully in charge of the signings made.

Against Sevilla we were very unlucky to lose 1-0. True that we didn't register a single shot but at the same time we were down a man the majority of the game and then lost a second player on the second half. It's very difficult to attack a team like Sevilla being 2 men down. The board should have considered that Sevilla also beat Barcelona and Real Madrid so it wasn't a fluke or anything like that.

Best of luck to Nuno wherever he ends up, and I'm hoping we improve and finish top 4.

Actual Valencia arentin a great shape, Nuno departure remains a mystery. Gary has been under SAF so im not expecting him to be a noob but Valencia direction are keen on gambling, there is no other word.

@Rai Cant understand whats happening to Abdennour, this guy was a beast in Monaco...

My first thought when I saw this was, "great, now he and Giggs can take care of ManU when LVG is gone!"

Fuck, I'm such a homer.

First match in charge is vs in monster form Barcelona then second will be against Lyon for CL qualification spot . This will be a very tough start .

I have a feeling that Neville will have a good season but as @Marcus2011 said his first match in charge will be against Barca who have embarrassed most of the team in La Liga including us (Real Madrid) but he will always be there for the players as I believe that he is a great role model, he reminds me of Gerrard and Scholes.

Best of luck to him... Very tough start indeed.

Skysports is going to miss him badly, one of the best pundit out there. I like Carragher and his analysis but I cant stand his accent hahaha

i think he has potential to do well. his analysis on sky sports is second to none. if he can implement that analysis as a coach and motivate the players then theres every chance he will be successful. always tough to start your managerial career at such a big club. hope the pressure does not get to him...

Alright I will make a prediction .

Neville Brothers vs Barcelona 1-2 . Even though Barcelona are in amazing shape . Valencia Players will be playing extra to please their new manager . Seems like a rule for most of the time when new manager comes along .

Neville Brothers vs Lyon 3-1 . I said tough because if they don't win they are out . if they do win game still depends on how good Zenit will play against Gent .

Therefore not a terrible start for Neville family but very tough one . To complete Axis of "Devil" they need to take Moyes on the board as ball boy .
