Gerrard is on the list while player like Gundogan is missing there, seems legit.

Ugh. I can't believe Courtois wasn't nominated. Honestly, he had the best record for clean sheets and goals conceded in La Liga last season and I believe he also had the best record for clean sheets in the qualifiers too.

@Lamps08: I understand why Hazard isn't there. It was obvious he started toning down his awesomeness by February. What surprises me more is there is no Mata.

For me it has to be:Neuer
Zabaleta-Dante-Hummels-Lahm
Schweinsteiger-Ozil-Iniesta
Ronaldo-Messi-Suarez

@Raimondo

One question. Why would you include Ozil and not Ribery? I don't understand that. One has had a mediocre season (by his standards), and the other is a running contender and finalist for the Ballon d'Or.

@Dyna maybe because Ozil is the best attacking midfielder in the world he Ribery isnt? iDK he has Suarez and Ronaldo on the wing that means that he prefer Suarez over Ribery...

In a 4-3-3 Ribery wouldn't fit in the midfield and as for the wings, Suarez has proven to be one of the most prolific and efficient players. Hard not to pick the man that missed 6 games and still sits on top of the goal scoring chart in a team he undoubtedly has carried on his back.

As for Zabaleta, he is one of the best right wing backs at the moment. Alve has been declining plus he is poor at defending. To me, there isn't much of a better option (assuming Lahm is being deployed as a Left wing back).

@Raimondo

So basically, you're excluding a player from your World XI of the Year simply because he wouldn't fit "tactically", rather than tactically changing your formation to include him? Ribery is one of the three finalists for the Ballon d'Or. I can't comprehend how you leave out Ribery from 2013 World XI.

Do you just want to go with a 0-6-5 formation then? Its my opinion and I don't have to justify everything because you don't agree. Ribery is great, but i believe Suarez to be better. Had he been in a team that actually won cups he would be compared to Ronaldo and Messi, but he is in Liverpool who recently started performing up to standard.

@Raimondo

Why do you twist my words? I never said anything about going with a 0-6-5. I meant that there is no excuse for excluding Ribery from the World XI. It's like excluding Ronaldo or Messi. In fact, Ribery has better odds of winning the Ballon d'Or this year than Messi himself.

I'm just pointing out that either you're hating or just flat out ignoring Ribery's accomplishments and performances this season.

Alright then, it would be the same as you picking Hummels or T. Silva over Dante when he also won as much as Ribery. He was undoubtedly a rock at the back. I picked my 11, not hating on Ribery since i think he is amazing, but i prefer Suarez. Its just my opinion.
