fifa ranking is crap...

does anybody know if from this ranking it depends how many teams from each league will play in European Cups?

@Don: No. I believe the rankings for the CL & Europa League are based upon the rankings of the domestic leagues. After all, the teams that partake in those tournaments contain many players who are not native to the league they represent.

Hmmm... I didn't England was better than Portugal, Italy, Argentina, Netherlands, & Brazil.  My they must have come a long way in the past week or so. More proof that World Rankings don't mean anything and that you should trust your intuition.

@Footaholic, I believe it's because of their achievement in the UEFA CL (Chelsea). National ranks can also be affected by the clubs within as well I think. If I'm wrong, then I'm probably guessing it's England's friendly matches before; most of them were victories. 

this isn't really fair- they updated it because of euro 2012, so countries like brazil went down- brazil should be in the top 5, they are still and amazing team.

Three more points and England would be 3rd...really? Sweden outplayed them, Italy dominated them, Ukraine got cheated on and they're 4th in the ranking?

I agree with Spain being at the top but there's no way England are 4th, and Denmark are never better than Brazil.

Wow, all time low for Brazil! And I see some of you guys are saying one team should be or should not be above another based just on their performances in the Euro. By that logic, Holland should not be even in the top 10. I'm sure their performances over the last 2 or 3 years is being taken into consideration. Also look at the team's progress. For instance Italy has made the most progress;12th to 6th. If they were higher placed earlier, they could have been above Portugal or England now maybe.
So for me the ranking is correct.
