FC Barcelona strategy signing average players.

What is FC Barca’s strategy behind signing Carlos Vela and others.

Other players that come to mind:

Adriano.
Jeremy Mathieu
Thomas Vermaelen after injuries at Arsenal
Paulinho from China and sold back.
Kevin Prince Boateng
Jasper Cilleson

Now Carlos Vela.

What is their transfer policy and can someone fill me in here.

Just getting some squad depth. Those are players that are not gonna be demanding to start every game and can be used whenever needed. If you are competing for league, cup, and cl you need that depth.

I would be more worried about players that weren't meant to be squad depth and came at high costs like malcolm that haven't hit the heights that they were meant to

I didn't know Vela was bought, but probably because their low on depth. They played Griezmann Rafinha and Perez in the last game. Vela plays in Perez's position. Perez was very good but all it takes is one injury and they have to play 16 year old Firpo.

Ok guys i take it back. Vela is not signing for Barca. Lesson: Never use sources of Goal dot com.

It goes onto say it is part of the reason why they signed Boateng, Appreciate the replies.

Barca board is totally clueless and they are not making any progress. You may have your attacking Griezmann - Suarez - Dembele, but when Messi is not playing the team is not even half as good. I bet Liverpool would beat them even more now, with City they are 2 best teams in the world imo.
