Fast-Acting [Football] Player Saves Opponent's Life During Match

A player's injury in a Ukrainian Premier League match today could have ended in a much worse way if his opponent didn't act as quickly as he did.

During today's match between Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and Dynamo Kiev, Oleh Husyev took at knee to the head by Dnipro keeper Denys Boyko, immediately knocking him to the pitch. According to a report on the Toronto Sun, Husyev was unconscious and swallowed his tongue.

Dnipro's Jaba Kankava somehow realized what had happened to Husyev and immediately came over to open his mouth and prevent him from suffocating. As seen in the video, Husyev does regain consciousness before being stretchered off. It could have been much worse if Kankava didn't respond as quickly as he did.

It is an American website, I removed the word "soccer" from the article so that you guys can focus on the actual post instead of going crazy about Americans being dumb.

FR formatting is very poor, if there is anything that they should improve it is this.

#Respect, but that will take quite some time in the La Liga or other more famous leagues for players to do that

@SoccerBoss you never know, Ronaldo likes to get his fingers dirty. Jokes, aside you never know, it may happen today, or in ten years, that is the beauty of life. You don't know what will happen next.

@soccerboss football players are competitors and winners but 99,99% of them would help someone they know is in danger. There's a difference between diving and elbowing people in the face, and actually wanting someone dead. We're all humand beings.

True yes, but I'm sure If Messi gets knocked down like that Pepe would just stand there and laugh his butt off for the first few minutes while maybe someone else will actually try to save him.

@SoccerBoss your comment made me laugh a little. But you haver to consider two things:

  1. It is just a game. Sometimes, you have to forget about the competitevness and understand the rules that apply on the football pitch don't apply to life. Therefore, being an ass is almost part of Pepe's job, he might be an asshole on the field, but you never know what kind of person he is off the field. The problem is that people forget that football is indeed sometimes just a game, and become inhumane.

  2. I am sure that if Messi suddenly collapsed, a team of some of the best doctors would be around him in an instant, doing everything possible to save him. In this case, the doctors couldn't react as fast as the players, they also ad a problem getting to the player, because of all of the other players around him. This is a relatively low level of football, compared to the likes of EPL, and La Liga. Remember that player in the EPL, i forget his name, he had a heart attack? The people who saved him were the doctors not the players. This guy got really lucky in this case.

@messi6511, that is a good point. Then again, Messi is Messi. Said doctor would be banished from Spain if he didn't run to Messi's aid XD.

This player is a hero, he figured out whats happening quickly and acted very fast despite being bitted by the guy.
This should be an example and should be teached in Football schools, he clearly saved his life.
