I can't decide whether or not I want Spurs to care about the Europa League, this year.

Part of me says Yes, for glory and for the prospect of reaching the CL via winning it, but, part of me says No because it will be a major distraction from the league, and will be made much tougher by all the losers from the CL getting into it after the Group Stage.

I guess I'll see how I feel as the season goes on.

IMO its the best opportunity for Spurs to get into the CL. I don't see them finishing in the top 4 this year. And considering most of the teams at the QF stage will be those who would probably be automatically qualified for the CL next year, that would provide you the maximum incentive to go for it.

In financial terms, there isnt really any difference between finishing 5th or finishing 8th. But getting into the CL is a huge money stream.

Lodatz, I think the winner of the EL doesnt get to play CL this season. That rule is supposed to become active until 2015-2016 season.

Imagine a group with Legia Warsaw, Hajduk Split, Partizan Belgrade and ST.Etienne
