Terrible terrible indeed, he will stay alive, but maybe the brain damage he suffered from that might be unrecoverable

Eriksen is awake and is undergoing further evaluation at the hospital.

He told players to continue with the match, absolute legend, hope he recovers quickly, these moments were horrible. Special thanks to the medical team, they are real life savers.

How would you know its brain damage?

I wouldn't know. Just if the oxygen supply to the brain ends after a long time, it damages it, this happens often with heart attacks. But if he told them to continue the game, it means that he will make a full recovery, thank God.

I couldn't watch and am furious with UEFA for having that match play out today. Him telling his teammates to play or not, they should have moved it to tomorrow.

I am happy he is alive but we don't know the downstream effects yet. They got to him quick, which might have been the difference, but you never know with the oxygen and the brain.

I hope he makes a full recovery and wish Denmark the best with the rest of the tournament.

As their couah said, I personally think it would be even worse, to get a sleepless night, think and rethink over it, and play it out in an even worse condition the day after. The realization (and maybe traumas) come after some time. They will haunt the players more. If it had to be postponed, it would be better to make it a while after, like, the next international breaks.

All thanks to the health personnels he's breathing and his condition stable.. I had really lost my hope of him making it through while I was watching. But then I saw he was holding his head while he was being taken out of the stadium then I was so relieved. This was a tough day. I can not believe they actually let the game continue the same day. Shouldn't have happened.

Damn I got scared when I heard of it. Wish him a speedy recovery and glad to hear he is in stable condition and able to communicate well with, meaning there is propably no mental problem (like expertfootball11 said, this is one of the scariest thing about heart attack). And yeah, it was great from his team-mate and the health personnel, they reacted quickly and it was what was necessary.

As for the game continuing, I kinda agree its propably shouldn't but the most important is that Eriksen is safe now.

Feel bad for Denmark though, they really dominated the game despite that and still end up losing it...

@expertfootball11 the fact that he isn't in coma afterwards and is able to speak normally is a good sign that he won't have any permanent damage.
