EPL standing if only Englishmen goals counted - Arsenal top Chelsea relegated

Ok this is not to bash any team so my folk just relax.

An interesting data from BBC this year shows a again the point of view that big teams are not "English" teams. Since English national football has hit rock bottom despite the noises they have been making in all big tournament... Should we appreciate Arsenal and Wenger a bit more?

I just personally find this kinda useless :P it doesn't even show the reality, because every goal counts, no matter where you are from. And when you have backline/cdms full of englishmen, it's unlikely they'll score. And you won't appreciate them then, unless they score a header from corner.

I remember back when Dennis Wise was captain of Chelsea in the early 90's, that when suspended (a few times) they had no Englishman in their side. The EPL wanted or did (cant remember) bring in the rule that only 4 internationals were allowed to play in a game.

The one who actually made this up was a desperate Arsenal fan, because to find this up he must have spent a couple of sleepless nights trying to heal his agonies by finding anything to cheer for. So Hooray for him, I hope this actually satisfied him at last.

^ Just because Arsenal are 1st in this doesn't mean that Arsenal fan made it. I know this is 100% pointless, but kinda tired of this constant pointless Arsenal hatred.

I agree this is pointless statistic, and just to see how club English players do, very similar to a lot of thread regarding how Barca and Real would be without Messi's and Ronaldo's goals. But on the other hand, it indicates something and if you instead of just focus on club level, pay a bit more attention to national level... then this might make sense.
Uhmn, Im a die hard MU fan and I kinda hate it when my friends keep saying EPL suck and (back at the time when MU was always top) they kept saying without foreign players EPL sucked worse... that why English national team always choked in big tournament.

Anyway BBC always find some way to look at EPL, this I dont think is a die hard Arsenal fan's work.

From my quick search and remember, I can post here La Liga in the season (2011/2012), the statistic was without those 2 super stars and was made to compare the importance of goals from Messi and Ronaldo (in total they score 96 goals). It's non-sense but if you want to see:

Well "from this", they concluded Messi goals were far more important than Ronaldo's ... Again it's non-sense

most of barca goals came from messi and he got spanish citizenship while real madrid goals scored by ronaldo and he is NOT a spanish citizen, that explained the table.

edit: I accidentally left out the NOT word. hehe.. :)

Thanks Tuan, nice lists +1, Anyway PL fans doesnt care about forming youngsters no coincidence why Holland, Italy, Germany, Spain, France and even Portugal did better in Euro and WC.
Some form the players, some just buy them.
Go Southampton, real pride of England.

I love how people say that Barca are helpless without Messi, but they don't realize that if he neverplayed for us we probably would have had another amazing striker...

Of course that would be the case, if you dont have Messi, you would probably find a replacement, but its gonna take sometimes (look at Liverpool now). :D.

EPL to me really needs to find a way for more English players to shine... this is really not healthy. Southamton should be an example for every club to follow :D

If the English players aren't simply good enough and managers don't like them, then there's nothing you can really do.

Spanish children at La Masia are taught Handball BEFORE Football, to learn how to play as a team and pass the ball in formations. In England they barely do that. Most kids just know how to do skills.

Handball before Football? that's the first time I have heard that. And it looks like in Spain the technical skills are higher too so I expected the opposite.

I mean: In Spain: technique, dribble then physical & formation. Meanwhile in England: physical, formation, run run then skills.

Spain, a decade before Barca did most of the hard job (their golden generation), I dont think they were that far in every big tournament either, despite having all the great clubs & noises.

More of Spain (recent time):

Fifa world cup:
In all the year before 2010 when they were champ, the furthest they reached was quarter final in 2002 when they ranked 5th in the world (very high)

European championship:
Before 2008 & 1012 when they were champ, the furthest they reached was also quarter final in 2000 when they also ranked 5th in the world, they one after that they couldn't even pass the group stage

Its really complicated to play archrivals players together, Bascs, Catalans, madridistas....
Thanks to Xavi-Casillas contribution to sort the off pitch matters geniously.

FA old guys need to be fired, sometimes when things arent going well, you must get a change, it cant be worst anyway.

If not for Xavi and Casillas, there would be no way Spain's golden generation would've existed. Those Madrid-Barcelona players would've never cooperated without these two. Us and Barca were extremely fortunate to have such legendary captains at the same point in time, and the Spanish national team even more so.

lol how did topic about epl become talk about barcelona and spain? without messi barcelona would not become best team in world under guardiola. epl become too much like serie a did in 90s. most money and most stars in world, so less room for young english players. i remember when serie a had all best players in world, until there was more money in england. things change.
