Wait, what? Are now pretending that Lampard and Gerrard are not world class? Or are you saying that they're not as good as they once were?

@quikzyyy: Indeed, he's been a good player for Arsenal this season. However, people talk about him like he's the man behind every Arsenal victory. Obviously a part of it, but did you see Walcott and Podolski yesterday, for instance?

Looking at his overall performance yesterday, there wasn't really much to say other than his assists. He lost the ball several times, made many passing mistakes and, as I pointed out earlier, goals and assists aren't everything. An overall great performance is important as well, which will show over time.

Furthermore, why do people seem to take his assists yesterday so overwhelming? He made three of them yesterday. The first one was a corner, the second one was a great cross and the third one was a simple header due to poor, poor defensive play from Wigan. Does that sound like an unbelievable performance? Not really.

@tdot: Gosh. How many times do I have to say this? I never said Cesc isn't top class, and to some extent, it depends on how you define it. Either way, why are you bringing up an assertion I said when, considering the time, most of them where in a different light when I wrote it?

Gerrard, Lampard and Moutinho not top class? Hoho.

You also think the players (Iniesta, Xavi and Fabregas) who got beaten by Bayern München 7-0(!) are too superior to be mentioned alongside Gerrard, Lampard and Moutinho?

@ Golden

I didn't know when you wrote what you did so I'm sorry.

But for Gerrard and Lampard, they are not top class anymore. They are GREAT, not top class. Moutinho isn't top class either. If those players you mentioned are top class, what is Iniesta and Silva then? Aliens? If they are aliens then what is Messi?

& what does Barcelona having lost to Bayern have any relevance to Iniesta's, Fabregas, and Xavi's skill level compared to Gerrard, Lampard, and Moutinho? Football is a team game and in two legs Bayern was better than Barcelona. But we are talking about individual skill, where we both well know Gerrard, Lampard, and Moutinho would barely even get a start over Thiago at Barcelona, and you want to compare them to the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, and Fabregas? C'mon son.

@tiki,

As said, it depends how you define 'top class'. In my opinion, Gerrard, Lampard and Moutinho are all top class, especially the two latter. Regarding Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas, I was bringing those up letting you know how those players really aren't as superior as you think. You're a Barca fan, and it's a natural way of thinking so.

Well you're a Porto fan, but I still can't say its natural for you to think Moutinho is up there because that's just idiotic.
