In American sports we just have overtime for everything - but I'm highly against pk's in anything but knockout rounds. It's a dumb way to decide a game and should only be used when a definitive result is necessary.

there isn't any other option other than a draw (1 point) when there is a tie game imo. as a coach i'd much rather take a draw, rather than a loss by penalties.

Alright, maybe not penalties, but I wouldn't mind having overtime

If were to say that you needed three points to win the league, and you were taken to penalties after a 'draw', I'm pretty sure you would take a chance of winning than a guaranteed draw. Of course, pks are probably not the best way to decide a game, but I truely believe no one will ever be passionate and happy about drawing a game in a league.
Nah man draw is a part of football. If every game which ends as a draw go to overtime, the players would be tired as hell. Especially in Premier League where the schedule is too tight.
That wouldn't be reflective of a team's strength, though. Poor teams can just park the bus and try to snatch a win after the game ends in a draw. It would cause the entire league standings to derail.
I've thought this for a long time, and in general does anyone else believe that draws are pointless and it should just be draws and wins, and decide the winner through penalties?
