This article gives good insight to the statistical side of this debate, which saves me having to do so.

As for my own opinion, I could make an argument for Bale being superior to Ronaldo, but it would be difficult to justify. Ronaldo scored more than double the amount of goals Bale did last season, and that's hard enough to get around. Bale created a lot more than Ronaldo did, but to make up for a 29-goal difference between the players (keeping in mind Ronaldo had 8 pk's in that number, most of which he earned himself, also maybe I've been buying into the penaldo nonsense, but I couldn't believe he'd only gotten 8 pk goals last season so I watched every one of his goals, yep, only 8 pks), Bale only created about 20% more chances than Ronaldo, but hardly makes up for more than a 50% goal difference. While Ronaldo actually had 3 more assists than Bale last season, like I pointed out in the Suarez thread, very few assists of a player like Ronaldo produce high-quality creation. Usually it's just the final pass in the move that is no more special than the five or so that came before it, and can be discarded in statistical analysis.

Also taken into account is the effect Ronaldo had on Real Madrid's season, the second leg against Wolfsburg in particular. Without that monster of a hat-trick, Real don't win the CL.

To conclude, I think that Bale is a very good player, one of the top wingers in the world. However, comparing him to Ronaldo from a statistical and effect standpoint is futile. Ronaldo is easily the better player.

Are we actually discussing this? I'm sorry mate, nobody's on Ronaldo's level right now. Not even Bale who is a class player.

So now it has come to the point where we're comparing a world-class player with a legendary one? Ronaldo isn't even deteriorating yet. Let him fall below 35 goals in a season first and then compare the two.

Its a personnal opinion, I think Ronaldo is still ahead of Bale on many level, but Bale is still world class, no matter how you see it. I kinda like Bale better though. ;P
