Wouldn't it be a good idea to switch coaches? I dont think that has ever happened. And Im still opposed to sacking managers at mid season, that can only make things worst. How can starting a whole new process in the middle of the season is going to help a team who clearly needed help?
This is just (and has always been) a clear desperate move by the clubs to seem like they are trying to "do something about it" when the teams situation is not the greatest.
I didn't think their 3-0 loss to Atletico was all that bad of a performance. To be honest, Atletico are a monstrously organized team, who have an impeccable defense. I'm a huge fan of them, but I hope they drop points sooner rather than later, otherwise it'll be embarrassing for Real to end up finishing behind them on the table. I think that Valencia were doing fine up till now. There was no need to sack Djukic.
Sometimes, it is good to change coach to re-build a positive dynamic in the squad, we all agree that players are more involved in bad results than coaches, but when its not going well, coaches are fired thats Football.
I think that sometimes, a small change in the squad dynamic makes a team change their loosing dynamic to a winning one.
I have nothing against Djukic or AVB, but if their departure can make an impact in the squad and makes players work more, then its good for your team.
And clubs can not wait that much to fire coaches, the media and fans pressure are on them when things are not going well for the team...
Thats why coaches are fired but still recruited by other teams because they know that its not their main fault.
I would prefer Pizzi to AVB in all honesty, Pizzi got that mentality it seams..
I think Pizzi will bring the intensity back among the players. Djukic was kinda cowardly so lets hope this guy (who will probably get the job) will make it better with more strength and conmitment
maybe our own Simione
I really hope Valencia get a really good manager, i hate seeing such a great club and great rival being put to waste by bad management by the board and bad coaching.
I really do hate to see Valencia doing this poorly, they're up there as one of my favorite Spanish clubs.
I agree with Dynastian. I didn't think Valencia played all that bad. Atletico Madrid is just that much more organized and clinical. If Valencia were going to sack the manager, I don't think they should have done so after a loss to a team that is in contention for the league title, no?
I don't know which side of the fence I am on, whether it is right to sack a manager mid-season or not, because there are many variables that come into play. The players need a boost in morale is all. Perhaps that is where Djukic fell short. Pizzi to Valencia sounds like a very interesting move.
it seems to have been confirmed on twitter that Pizzi gonna be our man, pretty happy about that but we never know, he might be worse than Djukic, hope not

I told you it could change the squad dynamic, both Spurs and Valencia seem to play better....
Valencia definitely deserved 1pt against RM, it could be 3-2 instead of 2-3 at the end as they were playing better after the equalizer 2-2. But its Football.
Good luck for both coaches in the 2nd leg of the season.
It had to be done but the timing? we didnt play that bad against Atletico and Diego Costa really made the difference in that game. the first half in that game was very even...
well well, it has been talk about AVB and Pizzi (the coach of San Lorenzo who won the Argentian league this week) as replacements..
