It was contribution of Di Maria , some incredibly easy fixtures ( Argentina should even been out of the group ) and incredible luck against Netherlands , Switzerland and Belgium wether it was with referees or pure luck of other team not being able to finish chances .

@Tiki_taka obviously has preference of Messi over Ronaldo, but you also have to accept the fact that there are people with the opposite opinion.

With argument, Messi is more magical to watch, dribble and doesnt dive, also a scoring machine, but he has never proven outside of Barca. In contrast, Ronaldo has proven in 2 of the biggest league and he either the best or 2nd best. He's a beast in scoring... so... we are discussing something that NEVER END :D.

Yes messi didn't score against chelsea, but he made assist and excellent runs and dribbles.

Yes ronaldo had a shitty world cup but that was when he was injured and let me remind you he had an excellent euro 2012 and performed pretty good in the previous world cup and international matches
