CR7 could be fined for celebration

"Cristiano Ronaldo could face punishment for his celebration after scoring for Real Madrid in El Clasico on Sunday.

The ex-Manchester United forward appeared to urge Barcelona fans to calm down after making it 1-1. Spanish league (LFP) president Javier Tebas says they will investigate as they are keen to clamp down on provocative actions.

The policy follows the death of a Deportivo La Coruna fan in fighting before a league match in November.

"We have to be careful with provocative gestures by a player or conduct that could incite violence among spectators," said Tebas. "It must be sanctioned, from a fine up to a suspension. We will look into it."

Barcelona went on to win the match 2-1 with Luis Suarez scoring the winner."

Rather odd since they didn't punish him the first time back in 2012. That celebration was legendary. :D

What is so bad about it. Why a yellow card for taking shirt of to celebrate?

Yeah, this is nothing offensive.... don't people have anything better to do other than zoom in some bullsh!t non-sense? Barca won, fair and square, Ronaldo and Real lost... move on. I would have understood it if Real had won though.

I would really want to see these people who are behind this. Next year players won't be able to celebrate, and the one after: player banned for scoring too much goals.

Well, you must understand that there is a new policy in La Liga that makes actions such as this punishable. This policy, as stated, is the result of a fan dying after a fight between Atletico Madrid and Deportivo la Coruna fans late November 2014. This is why this time around he might be punished. It shouldn't be a suspension, just a fine. With his wealth it will be nothing to him. I understand the policy but it has to be modified because its not all that provocative.

Also, Tebas (BBVA President) said he might be banned for accommodating his parts... Honestly is a man not allowed to move them? What if he's uncomfortable, is he supposed to deal with it for 90 minutes? Di Maria did this as well last year and Tebas didn't seem to care. I think this is just ludicrous from him.

Apparently they weren't kidding when they said CR7 could be punished. They're genuinely looking into the matter now.
