So, I be meaning to make this thread for a while but somehow never got to do it now. What do you guys think of Courtois and his current tie with Chelsea? From what I heard and seen, it seem he managed to create some huge rift between himself and the fans, because of him saying his heart is set on Madrid (because his family live there) and also because of his poor performance recently. What do you guys think, is Courtois future still set in Chelsea? Has he angered the fan too much? Should he move? Will Madrid still want him? Share you thought and your prediction on his future.

His recent performances have not lived up to his standard. On top of that he's been talking about how he wants to go back to Madrid. It's pretty clear what will happen eventually. If a good offer comes along, Chelsea won't hesitate (look at Matic).

A straight swap with Atlético for Oblak wouldn't be a bad deal at all.

He can fuck off. He said his heart is in Madrid but after last game with barcelona and 2 nutmegs from Messi, he said media he is committed to Chelsea. Just fuck off giraffe he is not even that good.

Fact is he has been slacking and not doing his job, if it's cause he is in his mind already playing for Real Madrid then sell him no point of having someone that is not willing to fight for the club.
De Gea saves Man Utd maybe 10-15 points each season he is there when the defense breaks, Courtois in the last months has just been acting like he's not interested at all he just guesses a side where to throw himself before the shot even comes and then acts like "Yea the defense failed what you want me to do"...

He's as valuable as whatever replacement Chelsea can potentially find. I'm not sure there's a better keeper than him on the open market, even with his poor season.

Why on earth would Atletico switch Oblak for Courtois ?
Actually Chelsea got rid of one of their Legends Petr Cech to make room for him because he asked for it.
He should have moved his family to London long time ago.
Well he should not be blamed for his first Messi goal since he apologized and GK mistakes happen To almost any GK.
I think the whole situation in the dressing room is not really healthy, Matic, Costa and now Courtois under the radar...

@tiki I agree, Courtois even at his best isn't an upgrade from Oblak who is potentially one of the best keeper in Spain atm and has a lot of year ahead of him as well.

Since, I dont have any feeling for him or his team so I dont really get the frustration from the fans. He isn't good, but aint that disaster. But I can see why Chelsea's fans might think they can find a better goalie especially with all those Madrid talks

You can dream on getting @Oblak because AM would never let him go.

I would suggest that you re-read that and consider the implications.

If he wants to leave and won't care how he does till the end of the season, might as well give a chance to Caballero like in the FA Cup. Sell Courtois then to Real Madrid and buy Oblak :)

@Sunflash @Golazo Personally, I'd let Caballero play some game, at the very least, it should force Courtois to work harder for his spot. :)

I still rate him but he has some weaknesses that don't seem to be improving. Would only sell him if we get Oblak tbh.

Hope Chelsea buys Oblak + a new defender in the summer since Cahill got old, sad but true. Cash out on Courtois np.

@Golazo Oblak has a 100M release clause though. Wonder if Chelsea can sell Courtois for enough to buy him and maybe another defenser.

So report said Liverpool and Arsenal want Oblak and they would pay the 100mil...I think Chelsea has a great shot there if this is true specially if Courtois wants to return to Atletico :D

This summer is going to get wild, Hazard is also rumored to leave for Real Madrid so maybe we can get Asensio/Bale in a trade there as well, I thought we may need another defender for a bigger depth but taking in count that Zouma will be returning ( along with some very nice players like Charly Musonda and Loftus-Cheek ) we're looking good ahead of the next season I would say.

if madrid goes for allison, chelsea can go for keylor navas. or bid for allison at high price. arsenal would take courtois happily, since their gk standard is szceny. win win solution.

@thebaldgenius, Uh, I don't see why Courtois would move to Arsenal, one of the reason he want to leave is cause his family is in spain. Arsenal could propably go for Navas though. Not sure if he would be an improvement over Cech but hey, who know, it could work.
