@V, it seems like all the Chelsea fans want him out, so I am guessing he will leave. Perhaps Monaco or PSG? Only clubs that can afford his wages.

Keep Cech as back up, but if he wants playing time then sell him to Monaco (I rate Sirigu highly(. I really like Courtois' attitude. He had to be loaned for 3 consecutive seasons and even though he seemed unloyal at times, he stayed true and becomes one of the few modern day players to break into our first team.

^ Another way of looking at it is:

Chelsea farmed out the young prodigy they had just bought from Genk, so that he could get some experience whilst not upsetting their main keeper's apple-cart, and now that he's just gotten to a CL final they've yanked him back from the team he helped get there. Atletico helped train him up, for 3 YEARS, and then Chelsea effectively got him on a free.

;)

I'm sincerely not trying to pick a fight with Chelsea fans, btw. I just think a dose of reality mixed in with the romanticism of moneyed football is in order. If Courtois had flopped, like most of the others Chelsea loan out, then he'd have been sold off to clear the books, and if Cech were younger, Courtois would have been leveraged to get hold of Costa for free.

I'm not even condemning it. It's damn clever business. But, inspirational it aint.

We're not looking to be inspirational. We're looking to dominate European football for the next decade. ;)

@V, "dominate European football for the next decade". That's impossible.

@V, All the trophies/glory Chelsea won throughout the years (as pictured) was an impossible thing to achieve? Hardly. If you funnel enough cash into the club, that becomes an expectation. Nonetheless, do not mistake improbable with impossible ;) There is a clear distinction. And don't forget it took a decade after Abramovich arrived at Chelsea for them to win the Champions League.

@lodatz

Our goalkeeping coaches constantly kept track of Courtois and sent him videos with evaluations on where he should improve . Same goes with other loan players especially ones with high potential . So , don't think that we just send our players and do not help and track their progress . ( pretty much what most top clubs do as well )

@thegame

Not going to go into excuses too much but you should remember why we did not reach finals or won them . Why we did not reach 2005 final , 2006 final , 2007 final and lost 2008 , did not reach 2009 final , ( except 2010 - 2011 - 2013-2014 where were clean cut looses ) . We were having good CL runs from the start but always some bad luck or referee would fck it up . . However, to say that Chelsea struggled to win CL is purely silly . Chelsea was a monster in European competitions during those years starting from 2003 . Team was build to be successful in Europe ! Ironically we won in the year when we were past shadow of old Chelsea machine .

Yes it took a decade but is easy to throw it out there when you have followed why it took decade , when we should have had CL title in second year ( 2005 ) with Abramovich ( that team was simply robot machine took apart Ronaldinho Barcelona ) .

@Marcus, that's the whole point I am trying to make. It is impossible to "dominate Europe for 10 years", because no matter how good of a team you are, things don't always go your way. The competition is intense and the pressure is constant. I know it is a cliche to state this, but nonetheless: Getting to the top is easy. Staying there is the hardest part.
