it's nothing special but i'm just wondering why a very big country like China with the Highest population ( 1,353,821,000 according to wikipedia ) can't make a good ( even an average ) football team ! while a small country with very low population like Uruguay ( 3,318,535 according to wikipedia ) have a world class football team !
China's population is about 408 times more than Uruguay's population !

It all has to do with the culture man. China aren't traditionally big on team sports. They may have a lot of people but that doesn't mean they are embedded in football since childhood.
Whereas place like uruguay, Portugal, and Holland have small popuations but almost every kid grows up playing football and it is part of their cultural identity.
You can make the same argument about China with India or even the US.

Dude, they don't need football. Have you seen their training facilities for children for the olympics??? It's crazy!

@Footaholic : you're right about the traditions issue but i mean if just 1/100 of them do care about playing football since childhood then they may have a good team
also the same thing for India but the US has a really good team now not a world class one but still very good

They're mainly into education in China as in most Asian countries. If you come live in one of them, you'll know.

China are bad playing football because they dont give this sport the proper dedication. You all know how China are the best Olympic all time medalists and that is because they dedicate a lot to this disciplines.

Also this proves that football talent is not 100% in born talent, it also takes dedication to become talented.
