Chelsea sign Barcelona starlet Josimar according to reports in Spain

Straight from the Daily Star:

"The Blues will also offer the Ecuadorian's family a series of extras, in the hope of persuading him to move to Stamford Bridge, reports Marca. It has previously been suggested Josimar has made his mind up to leave Barca, with London his preferred destination. He has also been targeted by Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham.

It hasn't been confirmed yet so we don't know if he has joined Chelsea. All we know about Josimar so far is he is a 16 year old winger from Ecuador. I'll update this thread when it is confirmed and I find a good profile about Josimar.

I hope you realize that just because a youth player is from Barcelona doesn't mean he is a world-class talent. A lot of La Masia graduates do not succeed in the first team as much as Xavi, Puyol, Iniesta, Guardiola, and Messi.

It's just because he was playing very well against us when Chelsea beat them in the Next Gen!

@Dynastian: That is understandable, but usually when a club wants to sign a youth player from any team and the club is willing to pay 10x his salary that he had at La Masia and extras for his family means that player is important. Only time will tell.

UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Josimar shall join Chelsea next season. The transfer fee is unknown and there is still no profile about this player.

Kakuta is excelling on his loan at Vitesse and could surely join Chelsea if he succeeds in his loan next season as well. Our best player and right behind him are Kalas then PVA. You should know better as Kakuta has went against Ajax in the Eredivise. And I only watch that league for our loanees. Learn some facts about Chelsea's youth before making a statement and not even realizing he is excelling at the league you watch the most. Not every youth player will succeed and get first team time. I am sorry if this does offend you, but we are not Ajax. All our starting players are better than our youth players. We can't risk losing some points thanks to us allowing some youth players to start for us. The best option for them is to send them on a loan. Alas, your not the first person to criticize Chelsea's youth system without how it actually works.

Sad to see this coming from a person who follows the Eredivise so closely. Kakuta IS doing great in Vitesse as I watch him and Kalas and PVA almost every two weeks or sometimes every week. He is a regular starter for the club when fit, assisted Bony recently during a match vs NAC and according to our scout, Pat de Vissier, Kakuta is making a remarkable comeback. "Kakuta was almost amortised by his wrong choices, but is making a remarkable comeback." He has had 6 assist and 1 goal in 19 appearances so far Vitesse. He is improving in every match he plays and could succeed into transitioning to Chelsea if he is loaned out again next season and succeeds. Seriously, did you even know he was at Vitesse?

no i thought he was at FC Youth Flop Wanderers.... vendetta just remind me of the names kakuta was said to be the next version of when chelsea ripped him from his french club? was it kevin nolan? was it steve sidwell? or was it ronaldinho? but yes as you say he assisted bony in a recent match and has even hit the hights of 1 goal! i rest my case :)

You'll never understand not every youth player will be given a chance to be in the first team. You know why? Because Ajax are composed of youth players because their team isn't filled with amazing players to stop youth players from going up. Plus, you also sell your players so you sadly wont know how some youth players wont make it. Sorry to break it to you, but when it comes to playing the youth players or gaining valuable points in a MUCH tougher league, we pick the valuable points. The club goes first. 6 assists and 1 goal in 19 appearances is amazing for a player who wasn't doing great in ANY of his previous loans. Be logical for once and stop being immature.

unfortunately you got a bit carried away and gone of about something quite different! my points were 1) like kakuta this barca kid is moving to chelsea for the £££ and that is very sad but typical of the greed that has infested modern football. 2) contrary to your delusions kakuta has not starred for vitesse and its nonesense to suggest he has. he is a uselful player with pace which is a big weapon in a league lacking exactly that. trust me he has not starred and is doing ok at the moment but not alot more. the stats you quote only underlines this very point. 3) trawl back through the news of some years ago and you will see that kakuta was said to be the next big thing. this isnt an exaggeration he was literally meant to be an unreal player in the making. gael kakuta has come nowhere near those standards. again you underline this very point by saying those (very average) stats are his best in his career so far ha! your right to pick getting the valuable points first vendetta but the point is gael is 22 in just two months. his alledged extreme talent should be coming to its fore around now and we should be seeing a special player developing who is by his own right good enough to at least be coming of the first team bench as a sub routinely. instead he is producing the ok performances and average stats at vitesse! he is not 18 anymore there is no excuse for him. he is drifting and therefore my initial point stands - this barca kid should look to the example of gael kakuta before following £££ roads! good luck to him tho :)

One word : OVERRATED

And please explain how Gael Kakuta's choice of going for the money ruined his career? He was given many chances with loans and failed. He was even given some easy loans like Gijon or Bolton. Why would Chelsea start him if he did not succeed in his loans? If you want to see someone who has succeeded in to our first team with successful loans look at Bertrand. Look at Terry. Ake is well on his way to our first team at this rate as well. I fully agree with you about Kakuta not living to his expectations, but money wasn't the reason he flopped. He flopped because he didn't improve, simple as that. Like I explained before, not every youth player will make it, especially when they can't succeed at the easiest of loans (Kakuta, Bruma, Borini, Lalkovic and Di Santo). You don't understand how saddened I am when I hear one of our brightest youth talents flop. It saddens me how they could have been success stories, but they just didn't cut it. They could have been Chelsea legends. I feel bad for all of them. Like Tom Taiwo, another one of our 'next big stars' who broke his leg which ended his chance to play for a big team. I'm sorry if I crossed the line in some of my previous posts, but Chelsea are always blamed when a youth player fails and it pisses me off. It's not always Chelsea. Sometimes, their progress to the first team was not meant to be. But that doesn't mean this Josimar shouldn't join us. If he succeeds for the U19 and U21 and when sent out on a loan, succeeds there as well. He could as well make it, if he doesn't make it even after some success with his loans, he can always return to his former club like Pique and Cesc. Either way, it will be as tough to get into Barcelona as it will with Chelsea.
