Chelsea proving everyone wrong once again

Just wanted to rub it in to haters and people who been insulting my Club and my Manager.

Chelsea emphatically end Man City's previously perfect home record and their 20-game unbeaten run. They are the first team to stop Man City scoring here in the Premier League since Birmingham in November 2010.

Manchester City remain Sky Bet’s favourites for the Premier League title despite the loss. They’re evens (1/1) while Chelsea have been trimmed from 100/30 to 2/1. Arsenal remain 9/2 third favourites.

Garry Nevile:
"When you put a world-class centre-forward in that team, which I’m sure Chelsea will do in the summer, you have got a real top-class team on your hands. Jose Mourinho has said they are not quite there yet and thinks Manchester City are still ahead of them; I can’t disagree with him, but they’re not far behind. They are coming on the right lines – for what he wants anyway."

Jamie Carragher:
"Throughout the season you look back at games that win you titles and those are the types of games. The reaction of Mourinho and the players at the end showed you how important it is. That’s six points they’ve taken off City and who knows how important that will be at the end of the season? Normally title winners beat their title rivals and they have done it twice now."

Solid victory for the Blues. Hazard and Matic were huge. Today underpins what I've been saying about this Matic fellow; he is so laughably, consistently sturdy, and he'll never stop delivering performances like these wearing the Chelsea shirt. Moreover, have a look at Chelsea's midfield. Anything familiar other than Matic? ;-) Congrats on the win.

Brilliant stuff from Daniel Taylor at the Guardian:

Chelsea have just reminded the Premier League that they have not forgotten what it takes to be champions. José Mourinho’s team played as though affronted by the suggestion they would not dare play Manchester City at their own game and, in the process, there was a peacock-like spreading of feathers from the team in the darker shade of blue.

I've been proven wrong. I was expecting a 0-0 draw or a city win and chelsea surprised me with that win.

Chelsea IS the better team from the match I saw. I've only seen the highlights (correct me if there are any misinformation) and it seemed like Man city played well during the beginning of the game until chelsea scored the goal and it looked like it was all chelsea except the final few minutes.

The Man city's post has to be the man of the match, I can't believe chelsea hit the post so many times....

both teams were very solid and arguably this could have ended as a high scoring game with all the chances. Chelsea matched City's overwhelming attack with a solid brick wall. a draw looked likey at the end but it was't ment to be. top game from both teams.

Hate him or love him, Mou has showed once again he is special. What a master class plan yesterday to shoot down MC at Etihad, almost perfect counter attacking system. Absolutely stunning. Credit to MC too, they showed great quality and some neat attack, if they converted their chances, the game would be even more interesting. I feel envy for both teams... I still hate this guy though.

Yea, Chelsea totally deserved 3 points, they hit woodwork 3 times if I know, right? City defence with Demichelis and Zabaleta didn't knew where was the ball, Hazard was amazing again: Matic surprised me, he did really well against Toure. To Demichlis I have just to say

^ i think it's not demichelis fault though.. playing nastasic as CB is just wrong.. he's young and cant cope with chelsea's counter attacking speed.. first half man city's defence too shaky because combination of nastasic and kompany is not solid enough.. they kinda dont understand each other and maybe lack of communication.. demichelis played as CDM because their main man Fernandinho injured plus the subtitute javi garcia also injured.. Chelsea have the advantage due to this matter.. thats my opinion because demichelis as CDM is just wrong.. plus, i'm quite disappointed with toure coz i saw he dived twice during the first half.. he's a brilliant player and one of my favorite in EPL.. just sad to see he dive.. *sigh*

@Bluntcanoon

Another thing that I also noticed that fielding two strikers and having 4 midfielders sort of backfired . Chelsea at times had 6 players running in midfield and even 7 with Eto dropping back deeper . Also in addition having three defensive mid with all three being able to push forward and chase ball back has helped a lot . Thus it preveted Toure being effective and it prevented Silva to play up to his best . Demichelis was completely shut down and out of pace. Another crucial decision from Jose was to give Hazard and Willian complete freedom because of their immense work rate they were all over the place and City's full backs were constantly one step behind . These two wide players played their key role, by stretching City and catching them on the break by fast and furious counter attack . ( Again I am not expert just brainstorming LOL so no need to criticize heavy )

Yaya has met his Matic

Hazard was just unplayable. He made the City defense look like a bunch of amateurs. Demichelis and Zabaleta were just chasing shadows all night. Could have easily been MOTM. Should have gotten a goal or an assist. City were lucky just to lose by 0 -1.

Mourinho's tactics are just too advanced for any other managers in BPL atm. Every detail covered, no stone left unturned. He learnt this tactical warfare in from his time Serie A. He's not the same manager that left Chelsea. The team he's building is of another dimension. All he needs is a striker to complete his puzzle.
