Chelsea made mistake selling KDB?

I think they made a massive mistake selling se bruyne. He's better than Oscar, willian, cuadrado and sometimes plays better than fabregas. He is playing well at Wolfsburg and scored and assisted against Freiburg today. Selling Schurrle and salah was also a mistake and then bringing in cuadrado. Your opinions on this situation?

KDB, Salah & Schurrle > Oscar, Willian & Cuadrado.

Exactly that's what I think too.

Schurrle- yes. The other two, not really. CFC has better players.

I really think Oscar is overrated. I wouldn't be surprised if some top club will make offer for De Bruyne. On the other side don't judge Cuadrado he still got a plenty of time to proof him.

I hope you realize that the Bundesliga is very offensively minded as a league. The focus on attacking play throughout the league allows players like De Bruyne to flourish. Consider how Serie A focuses more on defense than offense. Bundesliga is the opposite.

De Bruyne at Chelsea in the EPL wouldn't have performed as well as he is doing now because of the difference in playing styles and cultures of the leagues.

@Spanish: I wouldn't really consider him playing better than Fabregas. Provided he probably has better stats than him, do not forget that he plays in Bundesliga. Besides Bayern, there is not a whole of of competition in the league this year. Dortmund has had a bad year; Leverkusen & Schalke have been mediocre for sometime. Till he does this against EPL teams, I wouldn't really rate him over the players CFC has currently. It has been a good investment for his price tag. But I will agree to quikzyy's comment that Oscar is overrated. He has not lived up to his expectation.

Also, KDB plays forward. Compare him with Hazard, Costa, and Willian or Cuadrardo. Not with Cesc.

I think at the time selling KDB was smart. He wasn't really playing that well from the matches I saw of him.

Ashwin so you're telling me that bundeliga is a weak league? Then tell me why German teams are exceeding in Europe whilst the English clubs are flopping badly?

@Spanish: It's a weaker league in general. EPL has been bad for the past couple of years. Teams have been more focused to stay in the Europa league/Champions league next year, so they are more focused on the EPL than Europe. They do not have the luxury of say Wolfburg to loose a few points in the league and focus on Europe at the same time. The point differential in EPL between the second and 5th teams is like 3 points if Pool wins tomorrow, and 8 points with the 6th placed team. Not that big of a difference.

So PL teams deliberatly lost in EL and CL ? To focus on PL ? We know PL winner from October then how did they focus on PL, the race is over for months...

No, I'm saying they're more focused on EPL than other competitions due to the financial benefits. Because you automatically qualify for the competition next year. I was talking about midtable EPL teams that play in Europa.

CL has been another story: Bayern, Real, and to some extent Barcelona(Till Pep was there) have been the dominant teams in Europe for the past few years. EPL has been down in CL for sometime now. I'd say since 2011-2012 ish...It will be a couple of years before EPL will come back in UCL.

edit: EPL title race is not over till there is a clear cut winner. Bigger point leads were lost in shorter times than what CFC is enjoying right now.

I don't regret selling Schurlle, Salah if we do and Van Ginkel if we do... but right from that moment I knew we made a mistake by selling KDB

They have sold a bunch of players who were or could have been key to their game. De Bryune could have shined at Chelsea considering his potential and what he has don by now at Bundesliga. We could see how much Salah was capable of doing in very few games and lets not forget about Mata who was their best player for 3 consecutive seasons...

Saying that these transfers were not mistakes by Chelsea would be like saying that letting Pogba go wasn't a mistake by United. Chelsea seems to be an impatient club. How are they planning on having youngsters develop and shine from their academy into the first team if they sell any player who is not a regular starter.

@Dynastian
what you say is quite true, but i wouldn't totally generalize it at league level, as the more football develops, the more we should look at the club's specific brand of football. for instance Serie A being defensively minded is an old stereotype.

Chelsea has sold plenty of players and got plenty of paid.. Mata, Lukaku, De Bruyne, Schurrle, Bertrand

Meanwhile they have bought AMAZING players (with a netto profit): Costa, Fabregas, Cuadrado, Matic

Of the players being sold I think KDB and Schurrle carried the most potential. Still, remember that Chelsea got shit-loads paid for them..(bought him for £7m, sold him for £20m) And a player performing in another league doesn't necessarily mean he'd perform in Chelsea. In the end of the day it's all about money and how well the players fits into the squad. KDB did not, but certainly do in Wolfsburg. I mean look at Bertrand that do excellent in Southampton..

And comparing KDB to Fabregas? Hmm.

I would have liked for Schurrle to stay but instead we got Cuadrado and I'm sure that Cuadrado will step up sooner or later and be at least as good as Schurrle. Some players take time to adapt.. Look at Willian that took a year before he became a regular starting player..! Competition with Cuadrado and Willian should only work as strengthening the player. The best man plays.., as simple as that.

In the end of the day I think both KDB and Schurrle are excellent players and I certainly like them a lot but the those transfers aren't bad!

@iraqi_madrista.. Salah better than Oscar, Willian & Cuadrado? No. Why? Because he's had a few great games in Italy? He went there because he was too bad for Chelsea. Maybe after a spell at Fiorentina he'll be close to the other players. He simply does not cut it right now.
