That's great news. It helps even out the competition a bit, since teams like Arsenal never belonged in the 1st seed to begin with. However, it would leave teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Man City in the 2nd or 3rd seed spots (scary).

I dont like this new method... League winners are not always the best option for top seeds. Arsenal being top seed as ridiculous as it may look like is doing better and has always done better than City (current league champions). Also leagues like the Portuguese or the Russian shouldn't be given a top seed... CSK as top seed? or even Benfica...
This would leave the 2-4th places from Spain England and Germany in lower pots... How will the rest of the pots be arranged?...
^Thats cos its nicht gut vor United
^vut u seying therr m8^
I like that rule man
Barca should be in pot to - hahahahahahahahahaha
It's seems strange for me... Arsenal is better than Benfica and CSKA for sure. Example: we won against Benfica 5-1, and City won against CSKA 5-2. And we played very solid football vs.City. And Barca not in pot one? Same in case with Borussia D.
I loved old system by coeffitent.

I suggest that pot 1 would involve the last edittion quarter finalists, im not against having 2 strong teams in the same group stage, that looks like pre season of CL because both of them qualify at the end.
"Arsenal never belonged in the 1st seed " Never? Are you sure?
Not won a league in 10 years and still got enough coefficient to 1st seed, well played.
UEFA have confirmed a revamp to their seeding allocation for the Champions League.
From the 2015-16 campaign, the champions from the top seven leagues in Europe will feature as top seeds along with the holders of the competition. Sportsmail's Chief Sports Writer Martin Samuel attacked the current seeding system, highlighting the absurdity of Arsenal, who finished fourth in the Premier League last season, being in Pot 1 while title winners Manchester City were in Pot 2.
Manchester City would be top seeds in the Champions League if they retain their Premier League title
+4
But for Arsenal, the new rules leave them on the cusp of losing their top seed place in the Champions League having not won the Premier League title in over 10 years
HOW IT WILL LOOK Were the new rules in play this season, here's how Pot 1 would have looked:1 Spain - Atletico, 2 England - Manchester City, 3 Germany - Bayern Munich, 4 Portugal - Benfica, 5 Italy - Juventus, 6 Russia - CSKA Moscow, 7 France - PSG, 8 Holders - Real Madrid
But Sky Sports News has revealed that talks took place earlier this year and the plans over seeding - which are the same as Samuel outlined in Sportsmail - were approved by the club competition committee in May. UEFA president Michel Platini hopes the rules would stop domestic champions in the major European leagues being ranked lower than other clubs from their nations. It would also prevent situations like in this season's Group A where the champions of Italy (Juventus), Spain (Atletico Madrid), Holland (Ajax) and Sweden (Malmo) are all in together. The system currently works on the co-efficient system, where clubs' previous Champions League performances and the ranking of their domestic league is taken into account.
