With the UCL a few hours away, instead of starting a new topic I wanted to continue this one that for some reason didnt went far on comments. (considering bringing back old threads is a thing now) Tell me if there was any other thread about this topic with a deeper conversation.

Anuways, I wanted to know if for some reason any of you know the info about who was the last coach to win the UCL in their first season with their respective club? Not counting Di Mateo because he started to coach in the middle of the season when Villas Boas already had a lot to do on Chelsea's footballing. The last one was probably Guardiola who I believe won the 2009 UCL and he started coaching Barcelona in that same season 2008-2009

So if the trend continues, there wont be a debut coach winning the UCL which means teams like Barcelona Real Madrid Bayern Chelsea Man City Man Utd and PSG would not win it. Do any of you belive this possible? I personally think that Dortmund and Juventus are going further than expected in this UCL...

@Tuanis: I would count Di Matteo. He and the Chelsea old guards pulled the team out of a deep, dark hole that we were falling in to mid-season. Sure he didn't manage from the get-go, but he still finished his first season in the Chelsea managerial staff with a CL.

As for who I think will go far in the CL:

-Atletico Madrid
-Juventus
-Chelsea
-Dortmund

Also, this is may be an unpopular opinion but I think ManCity will flop again.

Nonono, this is how its going to be.

The final will be Chelsea v Bayern Munich: THE REMATCH. The first half kicks off with Bayern Muncih scoring 2 goals. One from Robben and one from Ribery. Then in the second half, Chelsea make a comeback scoring 3 goals but in the 90th minute Bayern score another with Neuer who went up for the final corner and scored the header. Extra-time didn't have any goals but Mourinho did get sent off for being Mourinho. Then it went on to penalties against the Germans. Bayern Munich score all of the first five and so do Chelsea and it goes to sudden death. Robben steps up to take the 6th and misses and it was now all up the 6th Chelsea penalty taker. Out of nowhere though, Mourinho parachutes from Roman's private helicopter jumps down runs to the penalty spot and scores the 6th one. Chelsea win the trophy but then 'Mourinho' took off his mask and turned out to be Drogba!
