Electric athmosphere.
Well... that was awkward. It it getting ugly before it even starts. I dont see why they make such a big deal out of it, specially Casillas who is the one looked upon as the guy that should have at least said hello.
Bit rude......
No wonder Mourinho found it hard to manage those arrogant players and especially Casillas. With this attitude he would never be selected under Mourinho. But hey! This video is nothing, it could be just that he is tired or both, don't really matter much. A 1:48 min doesn't show that at all. They could have talked or ate together the whole day and just on that 1:48 minute they didn't. Never trust the media at all.
Come on guys its understandable, these two were very good friends but remains competitors...
DDG is pushing Casillas simultanously from Club and National team position, he is comming as a number one he made probably sure to secure his starting place like Courtois did and its completely understandable.
Casillas is loosing everything so its normal for him to be cold at the moment, he had a Legend status, he was near of breaking all the caps records for club and nation, he is Madrid born and his family is well established in the city, he sure was DDG friend and mentor in National team so he may not appreciate that his friend chose his City and taking his place knowing that Casillas is in a bad moment ( I understand both, DDG is also a Madrid born citizen and refusing Madrid for a Spaniard is quite impossible )...
These are human relations, and at high level and in wealthy society, dont expect to see a Competitor and a club and national Legend leaving his statue with the smile, if they arrived till there it means that they have a fighters character.
Its not Casillas fault, nor DDG who was contacted by the club, for me its Perez responsability, he chose to change things and sacrify a dressing room leader, he should now take responsability for his move and ask Casillas to leave because cohabitation would be complicated for both and could affect the dressing room athmosphere...
Casillas remains a professional and faithful to his club and nation, he can still act professionally but its never good for a dressing room to have some tensions in the group, 90% of teams have at least 2 players that hate each others and still work with and fight with.
he isnt old already, his age for a keeper is young enough to be pushed to the exit, GKeeping position is very complicated because it relies on momentums, Casillas was surely expecting to bounce back, this is not a happy ending for his Huge career and for his competition spirit : There is nothing he should be blamed of, and we dont know what these friends told themselves in the telephone.
Yeahh, give the guy a break... He can not be happy always and fake his feeling all the time... He's not happy ATM and he will work on it... It's completely normal that he acts a bit cold or just avoid contact chit chat...

"No wonder Mourinho found it hard to manage those arrogant players and especially Casillas."
Hey, arrogant players are bad, but an arrogant manager is just fine, right? I hate how Casillas is being bashed for his behavior. He has never been a bad person. It's fine to criticize him for his playing because he hasn't been performing recently for a while now. But he is an all-time legend, and the disrespect for him for "arrogant behavior" is ridiculous. Smh, I don't even see how that's displayed as arrogant behavior. Just because they don't speak to each other for 2 minutes out of their lives, it's being interpreted as Casillas being arrogant? Wtf?
Dunno, this is bit weird, dno what to say, I guess Dynastian said it well. Casillas is definitely not arrogant, that's for sure.
@Dynastian I have to agree with you about Mourinho, he is the most arrogant of all time. However, he is a manager and he is the one responsible in the first place and if he doesn't achieve he would get sacked and lose his job not the players at Real Madrid and actually pretty much at any top club that demands success. The players at Real Madrid gave him a very hard time.
Both Mou and Real's players have their egos and cocky... I can imagine how hard it is to deal with the like of Ronaldo, Ramos or Pepe... those great players but rather self-centered. I dont say this is completely true, cuz all we see are how the media painted their dressing room. I can only judge by how they act on the field... it might be completely wrong.
But yeah, if that's the case, you need different approach (like Carlo), and I dont see Mou would change his proved to be successful approach... arrogant one though. He will never tolerate any bullshit and sometimes that backfires at him
Casillas may leave this summer, Madrid and Perez are offering him 7M euros to buy his last year contract, to let open space for DDG.
As much as its painful to see Iker leave even if he is a rival Legend, that was the best decision to let only one of the two in the club, keeping both of them could ruin the dressing room atmosphere. I hate Perez, but i admit he has bug balls and his level of reactivity is over 99, but im more fan of stability rather than short term success...
Well, it looks like Mou knew how to deal with Cech and Courtois this season, but as the thread is not about him, all I can say is that this video is prolly a big load of bullsh!t.

What Casillas did was not arrogant, it was just a little rude and even unprofessional. A couple of years ago he would have probably taken pictures with him and stuff so only because he is the one to take his place at Madrid now he is not willing to even say hi. Players who face their replacements dont usually act like this. Casillas is hurt, and media loves to see him like that as they are the ones who criticize him the most.
Why De Gea didn't say hi first, nor came to Casillas and did some greetings. He's a new member, seeing an old legend, that's more De Gea fault.
If De Gea had come and said hi and Casillas had chosen to ignore him, that would have been rude and unprofessional.
It's probably a sign that he is actually leaving Manchester
