You don't really have to use up your time to help me out, but if there's nothing else you're doing at the moment I'd be grateful if you could share a topic or two.

Here's some things to take into consideration:

-The topic can be about anything
-Time limit is 10-15
-While the main language in my school in English, 90% of my classmates are Egyptians. So think of the cultural/ethical borders
-No topics on Egypt or politics or the class will turn into a shitstorm
-One of the biggest things the teacher focuses on is how involved the class is
-While serious and thought-provoking topics like poverty, diseases, teenage pregnancy, etc. are good, I'd prefer it if the presentation idea is more light-hearted and fun for everyone

Thank you for those willing to help.

First topic:Talk about how football is useless. It never benefited humanity in anyway other than entertainment. It's a very debatable subject...
Think of it : Pele was oh so amazing and such.. but what have his skills on the field benefited humanity in? Of course some players donate some of there money but that's not exclusive to football.
Second topic:
Talk about how respect between cultures has collapsed. People can't fully wrap their head around a culture until they live in it for a few years but that doesn't stop them from saying judgmental bull about other cultures.

How about some alien conspiracies? They're pretty interesting for teenagers.

Try researching on alien conspiracies related to,

  • The Sphinx
  • The Pyramids of Giza (pretty damn interesting)
  • Christopher Columbus' journey through the Bermuda Triangle
  • The lost Indian city of Dwaraka

I don't know how interested your friends are about football. But you could always talk about Egyptian players like Salah.

Zakzook : "Talk about how football is useless. It never benefited humanity in anyway other than entertainment. "
In the world, there are many countries where two or more communities/religions/... are living in the same place (Ivory Coat, Spain, Belgium and many more ...)
Football helps these communities to come together and forget their differences by supporting their country.

Also, don't forget that Iraq U-22 were Champions of Asia during a difficult moment, it was really important to celebrate it for them!
Entertainment can make miracles, please, think about this!

I know that you wanted something that is light hearted, however, to get a good grade you should impact people emotionally (just my opinion). When you finish the room should be silent. Everyone should have your presentation on their minds. You really need to drive home a point. Discuss pollution, for example, show scary images that will move people. In my opinion, when I do school projects I say to myself: I am going to have to do this anyway, so I might as well do it to the best of my abilities. Another idea is to discuss an event that occured in Egypt's history, or sometihng to which your class mates can realate.

Make sure you have your logos, pathos, and ethos. Something that every great performance has to have.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. I have a lot of advice, we just finished the persuasive speech unit in my school :)

Otherwise, good luck! Show them who's boss.

**Put the uncommon effort into the common task... make it large by doing it in a great way.

You could do it on the evolution of football, as dictated by socialist, team-based tactics, over the last 100 years.

If you will all remember, Hungary beat England (the best team in the world according to rankings) a total of 13-4 in 1953, which was not only a triumph for Hungary as a nation, but an total and complete overhaul of the old system. The Mighty Magyars were mightiest precisely because they saw the value of the team instead of the individual, and based their tactics around this ethos.

This philosophy was carried on, in the end, in Western Europe, although the architect of that amazing Hungary side (Ferenc Puskas) was not part of the evolution of the concept. It fell to the Netherlands, and in particular Ajax, to bring the next phase of football about.

Johan Cruyff's talent, steered by the impeccable brain of Rens Michels created the modern-age equivalent of the Mighty Magyars, with the brand name 'Total Football' coming to describe the principles and system of play that we now recognize in the modern era. It was, as with Hungary, a system of total team participation, in which the ethos of the team was paramount, and the talent of the individual was subservient to the needs of the whole.

This concept took a gigantic stride forward when Cruyff took his chance to manage both Ajax and Barcelona (the club where, as a player, he had taken the chance to apply these concepts) to European glory, instilling in the latter in particular an undying flavor of team-play and possession-based excellence, and this legacy endured well after he parted ways with FC Barcelona.

And finally, the story would not be complete without the mastery of Josep Guardiola, who single-handedly reminded the entire world of the beauty, elegance and efficiency of this ethos by drilling into his players (possibly the most naturally talented group of players the world has ever seen) the essence of tiki-taka; itself a derivative of the principles developed by Puskas, Michels and Cruyff.

Without that team-based ethos (and the support of the Catalonian public, who were already well-acquainted with socialist, whole-based principles), Barcelona would never have flourished in the manner which conquered the entire footballing world. And without that conquest by FC Barcelona, the world would still be locked within the past; ignorant of the majesty which has been created over the years by Xavi, Iniesta and the unique excellence of Lionel Messi.

As far as I am concerned it is the most beautiful, epic and meaningful story in the history of football, and Powerpoint would be an excellent tool with which to tell it, Vendetta.

@keisuke I don't necessarily believe in what I said, I was just giving an idea. If I believed in what I said then a lot of stuff would be brandished as useless. The biggest example is literature; it has no value beyond entertainment.
