It seems ever clearer that Marc-Andre Ter Stegen will replace Victor Valdés at the end of this season at Barcelona. German newspaper ‘Bild’ reports that there is a pre-agreement between the Catalans and the keeper’s current club Borussia Mönchengladbach and that the 21 year old will move to the Camp Nou next summer for around 10 million euros.

The report talks of a four year deal, with Andoni Zubizarreta doing the legwork on the deal for the Spanish club. The German keeper, one of the most promising in European football, has been linked to Barcelona for some time, although other names have been in the melting point, such as Reina or Courtois. Ter Stegen has excellent reflexes and is also good with the ball at his feet, a necessary quality to fill the huge gap left by Victor Valdés, who has already announced his departure and, despite pressure to change his mind, is going to leave Barça for pastures new, most likely Monaco.

Valdes is probably leaving next summer, and im surprised to be sad about his departure because he is in an incredible form, his best ever. But its his decision to leave Barça and look for a final lucrative contract to end his career and because of his differents with the direction....

Of course Mourinho will never give Courthois to Barça, understandable. And Cassillas will never play for the historical rival knowing his loyal character, as for Reina, recruiting him is not a long-term solution, so signing a young talented Gk like Ter-Stegen is very good for Barça.

If Valdes decided to leave last year, i would be very happy, but actually i have mixed feelings after his stunning start of the season, his best ever.
What is your impressions about this transfer ? how good he is ? Is he the best choice for Barça ATM ?

He is a very good GK, I am surprised they'd let him go for such a low amount.

10M for a GK is a good price :)

I think it would be in the best interest of Spain and Barcelona to maybe buy a Spanish gk

^ if he does that mistake in Mochengaldblach, means he probably won't do it in Barca.
