Romelu Lukaku vows to ‘play like a man’ under Jose Mourinho’s guidance
Romelu Lukaku has vowed to ‘play as a man’ as the youngster aims to emulate the ‘great masters of the game’ at Chelsea.
Lukaku spent a successful season on loan at West Brom last term and will now return to his parent club, with new boss Jose Mourinho insisting the Belgian is ready to be part of Chelsea’s squad.
The 20-year-old hit 17 goals for the Baggies last season and was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
But Lukaku insists he is going to push his body to the limit as he competes alongside Fernando Torres and Demba Ba for a starting berth in Mourinho’s side.
‘I will train every single part of my body to be twice as good as last year,’ the Belgian international wrote on his Instagram account.
‘Stronger, faster, bring more quality into my game just to be as deadly as the great masters of the game.
‘It will be hard but when you work hard you play hard. Season 13-14 is the season when I stop playing like a boy and will play as a MAN.’
