Hey guys, I just wanted to ask you guys who you thought were the best player/players of each decade. I know most of us have not watched football prior to the 1990's or 2000's, but I'm sure that almost all of us are educated enough to know the history of football up to at least Pele's time. So who do you think has been the best player/players of each decade? You don't have to provide any reasons if you don't want to; just names are enough.

Unfortunately I know little of football prior to the 50's. The few legendary players I know are V. Mazzola, Piola, Meazza, Seeler, Nordahl, and Zamora.

Missing a few like Figo, Pirlo, Nesta, Scholes, but other than that this list looks very good.

I don't consider Pirlo or Nesta among the best in their generation. Figo is difficult because he is half in the 90's and half in the 00's, but if anything I'd put him on my 90's list. Scholes is a very good option though.

I could probably make space for Drogba in the 00's if I was counting five, same with Rooney. Understand that I only started watching in 06 so I have far more insight on the latter half of the decade. As for the 10's, I've always rated Robben very highly. If he wasn't injured so much his inclusion would be a no-brainer.
