It is not even this article that is interesting, but actually the fact that this is news is interesting. It is very impressive that Beckham is actually following through with his project. When he first announced it, it seemed very far fetched. LIVE YOUR DREAMS AND BUILD A FOOTBALL CLUB.
Thoughts on this? It will make the league even more competitive. Who knows, maybe even Ronaldo might play for Miami one day? Haha. Have a good day everybody.

Having an MLS team in Miami would be great for the league. Im looking forward to see what Beckham would do for the MLS. I hope the excessive amount of clubs in the league kills the excitement, it is one of the biggest leagues in the world.

@tuanis Is MLS one of the biggest leagues in the world? How do you mean?

It is exciting to see how football/soccer progress in the US. As I understand it the teams can't be promoted or relegated to other divisions yet? right? But I'm sure they'll make a functioning league system in the future. This would obviously increase the competitiveness of the league. Also, as I understand it the "team-owners" are always investors in the league itself because MLS is a single entity in which each team is owned and controlled by the league's investors..

Meaning that Beckham has invested in the league by building infra structure among other things.. If the clubs aren't individual entites they'll compete on a more equal level.. but I really think they should be controlled as independent entities too create their own identities and unique history..

But yes, more teams should make it more competitive and especially when front figures like Beckham are involved..

Also, I really don't like leagues that are divided into conferences (all though I realize that's the only way in the US because of it's mere size). Neither do I like the 12 teams MLS cup play-offs as it takes away too much focus from the league itself..

Lastly, I'm really curious to see how the supporter culture will evolve in the US as well.. I mean when I look at American football it seems the game itself is only a small portion of the experience.. people dressing up and drinking beer seems to cover the rest of it.. Football is different though. the game itself is the experience..right?
