@fredtilson So not much change in the starting 11 ? What do you make of Vermaelen ? He could become available in the summer. Talking about CBs, what's up with nastasic, he was a big deal last season but this season I haven't heard much about him.

@ KingHenry - I don't think he is good enough to be a starter. Backup yes. But I don't think he'd want that. Re. Nastasic, it was a combination of injuries (he's still injured) and having difficulties adjusting to the high line system that Pllegrini plays. Nastasic is not the quickest of the lot, but he's young so I am hoping he might be able to adjust.

We have Jamal Blackman ( promising prospect and currently doing good in youth team ) and Schwarzer will stay another year . Courtois is better to be send to Premier League team , so he can get some time getting used to the league .( Preferably mid table team , or if Sunderland survives , I will be glad to see Courtois there ) Cech is still top goalkeeper .

I am just in love with Varane ( No homo ) . So , I choose him over any young center back in the world . Ever since i saw him manhandle Messi by himself , I just can't stop wishing him join Chelsea . How much do we need him ? I n my opinion very much . John Terry is getting old and may leave , so Cahill will need a good disciplined partner, and Varane seems like a perfect fit . Varane already played top games . Amean he played against Barca, Dortmund , Bayern , what else kind of experience young player his caliber needs to deserve starting line up ?

As far As David Luiz , we all know how he can be brilliant and then somehow manage to score own goals , injure our captain and first team goalkeeper . I love Luiz , but he can be very undisciplined and make very stupid mistakes at times .

Kalas can play right back ( exactly what we need to back Ivanovic ) . and Zouma will have to be patient or on loan . They are both very young .

Am i scared we may loose Kalas or Zouma ? No , because I am confident if one of the center backs decides to leave not only , we will get our money back but we will make profit . Plus , if one of them decides to leave , I do not wish to have such player in our club and if they are really up to task playing for top club , they will fight for their spots . Healthy competition within the club will only do good for the every player .

Weakest position

Right back . It can be strong but weakest too . Ivanovic is great at defending but not can be terrible at going forward . However , he works hard , tackles very well and has a great stamina . I think he will do just fine for another season .

@ tiki taka - I don't see us selling Aguero for anywhere close to 45 million euros.

And why bring in Moreno when Shaw is a Chelsea fan. Moreno is really good, but Shaw is better and is more suited to the premier league.

We should sell Luiz, I like him so much as a person, but he doesn't perform consistently for us, with big money offers around 35m coming in, we should think about selling him.

Also, bring in Varane as he wants a Chelsea move. I know it will mean we have a lot CB but Terry will retire, Kalas and Zouma may be loaned to Europa league clubs, so we will still have Varane Cahill and Kalas/Zouma

It will be unfair to Peter Cech to bring Courtois back who also wants regular starting . Courtois can endure another season on loan . When he signs new contract send him to another club but this time in England if possible . No new contract , than bring him back to battle the first team spot .

Peter Cech has done , so much for the club and still in great form . Therefore , I can't find a single reason to drop him to the bench .

Blackman is promising young talent . Not sure what is your definition of young talent , but Jamal is doing good and in few years will be valued in 5-7 million pounds . Plus, Jamal is our product therefore you get loyalty and love from such player to settle down for bench for the sake of the club . Like Hillario and Paulo Ferreira. ( ofcourse not forever )

Varane never wanted to join Chelsea or wants to join Chelsea over Real . No one wants to leave Madrid unless they played some significant amount of years or Real will sort give them signs as if they not needed much anymore . Leaving Madrid is sort of a downgrade . Let's be honest , Real Madrid is the most popular team in the world and many people around the world recognize each player very well . So , what player would not want to play for Madrid ?

I prefer a classic tall 9 like Mandzukic to have a plan B, but since Messi is insisting to sign Aguero, maybe they had a conversation i dont know, i tried to be realistic and i chose Aguero over Suarez for example because he can adapt to Messi.

For CB, we need safety in the back, David Luiz has an attacking profile, i prefer a pure defender like Hummells or Silva/Kompany but its hard to take a player from City or PSG...
