We dont need him at the moment, Xavi is still in a decent form...
Considering Afellay will probably quit Barça and Mascherano is used as a Central Back, our midlefield players are : Busquets - Song - Iniesta - Xavi - Fabregas, its actually enough but with the departure of Alcantara our replacement for Xavi is only Fabregas.
Gundogan is not what we need at the moment, we need a GK and a CB, but if we can have Gundogan in addition with a good price, i will not be that sad :).
ps : Jonathan and Sergi Roberto are part of the midlefield players, but they are not fit enough to play.

Both Jonathan and Roberto can be fantastic reserves for Xavi, given that they are nurtured properly. Gundogan is not needed. Taking a look at his teammate Hummels, however, would be a brilliant move.
EDIT: Forgot to say that Ter Stegen is a great move, if the rumors are true (which they seem to be).

What no one can deny is that Barça sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta was in Germany at the beginning of the week. However, sources insist that the former Spain goalkeeper was not in the country to meet the young German international.
So, what was Zubi doing in Germany? The 52-year-old is planning to strengthen the Blaugrana midfield and, although immense faith is retained in Xavi Hernández, the intention is to pursue the signing of Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gündogan.
Gündogan has been on Barça’s radar for several seasons, impressing the Spanish champions with his creative qualities. At 23, the La Liga club are also attracted by his combination of youth and experience.
I am a big fan of Xavi and respect all what he did for the team and his achievements, but his best years are beside him and Barça needs some replacements in the midlefield, i will be very happy if this happens.
I hope Barça will not forget our main issue : Finding a good central back.
