In the above press conference: Guardiola was asked a question about a story that appeared in the Brazilian press earlier this week.
It claimed that Santos vice-president Odlio Rodrigues said Guardiola had encouraged Neymar to sign for Bayern instead of Barcelona, telling the player's father that Vilanova would be unable to manage having both the Brazilian and Lionel Messi in the same team.
His response was unexpected. After answering the allegations he vented against the Barca president/board for attempting to make him look bad in the media by leaking rumours to the press that he had not made enough effort to see Vilanova when he was diagnosed with cancer. 1) The reasons behind the rift : Peps relationship with Rossell went from badto worse.
Pep Guardiola turned against Barça President Sandro Rosell and his board of directors in a relationship that deteriorated over time. Here we help you understand the key reasons behind the breakdown in the relationship between the two.
Relations with Pep as a coach were never good :
Rosell and Guardiola always kept their distance from each other. They respected each other and never completely fell out, but the way the coach s departure was handled and particularly with his replacement Tito Vilanova being announced on the same day was not what Guardiola had wanted.
Pep was closer to Cruyff and Laporta :
In the war between the former President Joan Laporta and Rosell, Guardiola was always seen to be closer to Laporta. Johann Cruyff was also in constant dispute with Rosell and that relationship helped make the distance greater between Pep and the club president.
Relationship with Vilanova cools down :
Guardiola went to live in New York which by coincidence became the chosen destination for Tito Vilanova to recover from his illness. Tito admitted in a press conference that his friendship with Guardiola had deteriorated, without saying anymore, however yesterday Pep did admit that he had visited Vilanova during his stay in the city.
News of Peps interest in Barca objectives :
Stories began to circulate in the press that Guardiola was interested in signing Neymar for Bayern Munich. After that, rumours linked Thiago to the German club. At the same time as Guardiola takes various former members of his Barca backroom staff to Germany with him.
Yesterday Pep brought the subject up again when he said he should have been left alone and in peace, and that some people had crossed the line in using Titos illness against him.

4) Bayern will pay Thiago s release clause : Rummenigge has informed Barça.
Done and dusted. Guardiola s request has been granted by Bayern, the German club setting the wheels in motion to sign Thiago Alcántara.According to the RAC1 station, the German club s representative, Karl Heinz Rummenigge, has already approached Barcelona and announced Bayerns willingness to pay the release clause in full.Spanish radio station Cadena COPE had previously stated that Thiago Alcantara will sign for Bayern Munich. The deal could be announced this Thursday.Pep Guardiola had repeatedly insisted he would not make a move for the player. \"People have to know that Barca players are not leaving for money or desire.
