Ballon d'or 2021

According with portugues media (RTP), Lionel Messi is the winner of the Ballon d'or 2021. RTP announced that Messi will receive the famous Golden Ball at this year's ceremony in Paris on 29th November - a record-extending seventh award for the Argentine.

The 34-year-old has done the customary interview with France Football magazine, pipping the likes of long-term rival Cristiano Ronaldo, Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski to arguably the most prestigious individual prize in world football.

What do you guys think? Who do you think should win it?

Given Lewadowski's year and the fact that Messi has started out pretty slowly at PSG he's just trading on his reputation at this point. That's my honest opinion.

Lewa or maybe Salah, should be the winner this time around. We all know this is a popularity contest and tends to focus on certain positions, so midfielders and defenders always have an uphill battle.

I would vote Lewa.

Nothing but Lewa is fair. Messi and CR7 have got it too many times because of their names. Not yhat they have performed badly but because others have performed well snd even better at times.

This has just reminded us of how worthless this prize is. Thierry Henry not winning it was the greatest robbery
