The media is so unreliable these days that I'm not going to believe this news until I see Bale holding up a Madrid shirt and the clubs officially announcing the transfer.

Bale is not worth anywhere near that much. I wonder how Spurs fans feel about this.

No mate, PEREZ wants Bale. Ancelotti and Zidane could care less. They're good with the squad they have already.

*The insane price tag aside* Real Madrid would have the better signing. Ronaldo with Bale is better than Messi with Neymar.

READ IT, SOME INTERESTING WORDS BY LAUDRUP.

Meanwhile, Swansea boss, and former Real Madrid player, Michael Laudrup believes Bale will be worth any sum his old club are prepared to pay to prise the winger away from White Hart Lane.

"Is he worth £100m? Who can tell? Who can tell what something is worth? Everything is worth what one club, one person, one company, is willing to pay. It's like buying a house," said Laudrup.

"We talk about it like merchandise and I don't like it, but it's fact that if one person is willing to pay so much for one player then he is worth it."

Laudrup also admits he can understand why Bale's head would be turned by the chance to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"Real are a massive club. I don't know if he will go as I only know what I've read in the papers here and in Spain because there's huge interest in him," he said.

"There are three or four clubs who say they are the biggest in world but Real Madrid are definitely one of them."

"Tottenham are a big club but Real Madrid is a step more in every aspect, they have won the Champions League nine times and I don't know how many league titles. There is a lot of pressure."

"You have to have quality as a player but you also have to cope with that pressure and not everyone can do that.

"He has technical ability to play there but let's see what happens. I think he's a great player and he's already shown that with a fantastic season for Tottenham last season.

"But we are reading about some big numbers and if they are true maybe in the end he will go."

He added: "Big players want to play at the highest level, at a club who try and win the Champions League, who get to finals and semi-finals.

"There are six, eight, 10 clubs with that potential and Real Madrid is obviously one of them. All big players want to play for that possibility because it's special." [Sky Sports]

@tdot: no-one is worth that much. Except Messi.

Personally, I do NOT want this to happen, even for that kind of money. There is no guarantee we could get the targets we want, even with such riches, and every likelihood that clubs would raise their prices for us, knowing we'd just gotten so much money.

Yes, a 100m pound investment in the squad would be immense, for us. But, my heart tells me that keeping Bale is even more so. He's ours. We raised him. He walked through our doors as a promising teen-aged LB, and is now one of the hottest properties in Europe. He's grown up the Spurs way. He's one of us.

That, to me, is worth more than all the riches that Perez can throw at us, and if Bale stays where he is, I'll be a happy man indeed.

If, however, it really does happen... well... I will not lie; having 100+m for him will make the blow easier to bear, certainly. :p

IMO, Spurs should try to get one or two Madrid players in return as well depending on who they want and who is willing to come. Because Madrid is the only team who wouldn't fleece them, other teams will surely raise the prices of all their players.

Tottenham needs to keep Bale to keep dreaming about CL, if they resist to perez this summer it will be a proof that the club have enough attractivity and can build a strong squad, they must keep him if they want to be bigger, at least for reputation and visibility.

I hope its true, because every time real spend big on a player they sell off a couple top class players for cheap.

I hope Inter can swoop in a grab a few! :D
