Anzhi puts almost entire squad on sale

Russin club Anzhi Makachkala has put its entire first team squad on sale after failing to have "instant success". Suleyman Kerimov has confirmed that Anzhi will now focus on youth development. Players who have been put for sale include,

Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon)
Willian (Brazil)
Lassana Diarra (France)
Lacina Traore (Cote d'Ivoire)
Jucilei (Brazil)
Vladimir Gabulov (Russia)...

... and many more.

This displays, at least for many teams in a similar situation to Arsenal, a chance to buy some of Anzhi's players for cheap prices. Eto'o is a huge option for Wenger. If Wenger can tie up Eto'o to a short-term contract, his experience and finishing can help Arsenal a lot up front.

Apparently Chelsea are the ones making a move to buy Eto'o.

^I would say the same if Eto'o weren't 32 years old.

Our current squad age average is between 20-23 if you don't count Schwarzer because he is 40 years old and we just signed him for free as our second-choice GK

yeah but still I don't think we will go for someone over 25 years old. Rooney is an exception.

@Alex

Actually, Chelsea's average squad age is 25.7, and their average starting XI age is 27. So Eto'o may not be a bad idea, if Mourinho sees it fit.

@Dynastian That was the average squad age of last season. We released many players this year and promoted some from our youth. :)

Nono, I counted for this season. I included Van Ginkel, Lukaku, Schurrle, De Bruyne, Piazon, etc. I didn't include Schwarzer. :)

Arsenal should bid for Eto'o/Diarra

@Fred

Btw, who's that on your profile picture? A previous City player? Is it that goalkeeper who recently passed away?

Trautmann is one of the best goalkeepers ever as my dad told me. Too bad he never got to play internationally and win the 1954 World Cup.

Back on topic though, if Rooney doesn't go to Chelsea I wouldn't mind Eto'o for a 2 year contract. He was Jose's first choice before Shevchenko anyway.

Willian is very good imo, I really like how he played with Shakhtar in the last CL...

Eto'o... bet he will go to Galatassary or something.

Willian is highly overrated. It's kind of hilarious to watch the mad scramble in the headlines about who is suddenly interested in him.

I'm rather glad Tottenham are not a name on that list. :p
