The Rossoneri have revealed that the ex-Real Madrid coach has decided against replacing Filippo Inzaghi at the helm at San Siro

Carlo Ancelotti has turned down the chance to return to AC Milan as coach, reiterating that he needs to take a break from the game.

The 55-year-old had revealed after being sacked by Real Madrid last week that he would be taking an 12-month sabbatical to recover from a back operation he will undergo in Canada this summer.

However, Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi nonetheless sent club CEO Adriano Galliani to Madrid for a series of meetings with Ancelotti, who spent eight seasons at the Giuseppe Meazza between 2001 and 2009.

Ancelotti admitted after the talks that the chances of him rejoining the Rossoneri were "50-50" but the former Italy international turned the job down on Tuesday.

He is going on a surgery, too... that largely contributes to his break. The last 2 years have been sweet and bitter for him, the pressure at Real is immense.

Tough and glory time await for Benitez.

Everyone seems understimating him a lot but memeber he was booed at Chelsea too and did a tremendous job.

Anyway, hopefully we will see this gentlement soon. Best of luck, Carlo

Of course Tuan, Benitez won the league twice in 3 years with Valencia in Spain, and won EL just before going to Liverpool.

@tiki_taka: true, I just wondered after all the "fuzz" about how he isn't adequate to replace Carlo. May be he will fail, but he is good enough for the high demanding Madrid
