Ancelotti speaks out about team

The current form

“We are talking about periods during the season and in football you have to be at 100%. The second your form dips a little you can lose games and drop down the table. We are still extremely competitive and we have to keep looking forward. The upcoming week will be very important and is going to tell us what the future holds. Tomorrow, Wednesday and the game against Elche could clear things up in terms of what's ahead for us”.

“The Atlético match was terrible, but that kind of thing can happen when you go on a run like we did. We have dipped a bit but we still have time to bounce back. I have faith that that will happen. This squad fills me with confidence and I'm sure that we will be competitive yet again”.

The squad's professionalism

“I have never assessed my players' private lives and I'm not going to start today. The problem is that people think that this affects the players' professionalism. Time and time again the players in this squad have proved their professionalism, winning frequently and showing their commitment for this jersey. Everyone is entitled to a private life. The only thing I value is the players' level of professionalism and I have no doubts about this team. Everyone has their own life and I don't like it either when people pry into mine”.

“We were all frustrated after the game. And it is perfectly understandable that the fans would feel the same. We left the Calderón downtrodden, but now we have to react. The fans have always shown their love for this team and the criticism helps in terms of getting a positive reaction. Our aim now is to fix things and the team has shown me in training that they are reacting well and are aware of the problems that need correcting”.

The year 2015

“Following the end of 2014, when we won the Club World Cup, we dropped in terms of intensity, attitude and concentration. I don't know if that is usual but that is what happened. Now we have to focus on our work and our objective. Saturday's game came as quiet a surprise because of the manner in which we were beaten. That is difference compared with the game during the first half of the season. Back then we were bedding in new players and lacked a clear identity”.

The meeting with Florentino Pérez

“He came and spoke with me and the players, but he was positive the whole time and expressed his concerns about the recent results. We have tried to look for a solution. He also showed his love for the players as well as his faith in them because we all believe we have a very competitive squad”.

Praise for Odegaard

“He is a huge talent and has a lot of character. He will train with us sometimes and with Real Madrid Castilla other times. He made his debut last week with Castilla”.

This guy is a true class act, a gentlemen. It's hard to not like him.

The Ronaldo's party fuzz is ridiculous... especially on goal.com where they've been publishing rubbish every single day, until today. He can do whatever he wants, and it's one of the biggest milestone on a person's life.

@Tuan

Yes, I agree. Reaching 30 is an outstanding milestone, and a little celebration and karaoke shouldn't be out of line. Luis Figo has stated, "Those who question Cristiano ’s passion for Real Madrid and his professionalism, completely ignore his history and his character."

What's more absurd is that James and Khedira have been fined for partying against the orders of their doctors.

Khedira: "If Ronaldo invites me, it is a sign of respect to actually attend. And it was not really a party, it was just dinner. I did not drink any alcohol all evening and went home at 1:30 a.m CET."

Modric was also in danger of being fined, but was let go because he "apologized vigorously to Real Madrid officials".

The whole C.Ronaldo saga is just disgusting, I think you guys should just ignore idiotic articles about it. He even postponed the "party" that it wouldn't disturb his preparations for the Atleti game. It is quite obvious that you'll celebrate your 30th birthday..seriously. Besides - Cristiano doesn't even drink alcohol I believe ('cause his father died of alcoholism). The whole party had nothing to do with the Atleti loss, simple as that. No fuss would've been made, had RMA won the game.

Gotta agree with what Khedira said (according to Dynastian^): "If Ronaldo invites me, it is a sign of respect to actually attend." It would definitely be disrespectful not to attend.

Basically, you're not allowed to have a party to celebrate you're 30th birthday? Ridiculous...
