City are delighted to announce the signing of Alvaro Negredo, who becomes the Club’s third new recruit of the summer.The Spanish international follows Jesus Navas in making the switch from Sevilla.

He will join up with the squad on the pre-season tour, and wear the number 9 shirt

Recognised as one of La Liga’s most potent strikers in recent years, the 27-year old was fourth top scorer in Spain last season with 25 league goals

Good signing for M. City. Must mean they will sell Dzeko now.

Not necessarily. If Pellegrini plays a 4-2-2-2 that he did at Malaga, there will be space for Dzeko. But if we switch to a 4-3-3 like Txiki wants, then he will struggle to fit in. Personally, I feel with Navas on the wing, Jovetics creative influence along with a playing style suited to his game, Dzeko will do even better than Negredo this year

It's starting to look more and more like City might win the PL. They've spent 93.9m pounds so far, on 4 extremely talented players! And United and have only signed one player, so idk why Arsenal fans are bitching about having signed one player! Great signing by city though, feel sorry for Sevilla :-(

@ArsenalGunners
I never said it did, the fact that I said they spent 93.9m pounds wasn't suggesting that money buys success. It does however, buy players that can tilt the title in your favour, especially when they're very talented players. I stated the amount they spent, because I was shocked that 4 players could cost so much!

^ Yes ok, money can get you better players but they can flop. Look at Nasri, Balotelli, Dzeko, Milner, Barry. All them players cost huge amounts of money and they flopped. Imagine 1 or 2 of the 4 players City signed this summer flops, because they might not be used to the premier league or some sort of reason.

@ArsenalGunnersWhy are you arguing with me? I'm agreeing that money doesn't buy success, that players aren't always worth their price tag and that players who are rated highly can sometimes be flops. I should remind you that Liverpool payed 35m for a donkey named Andy Carroll

^ How is this a " argument "? It is a " Football discussion "

In a way money DOES buy success. PSG bought Ibra and Silva, and then they won the league.

Monaco are probably a title threat already!

@Rama

Yes, but remember that this is the team's first year together. Almost the entire starting XI is brand new. It'll take them longer to fit in than it took PSG, who just bought 3 players last season (Silva, Ibra, Lavezzi). :/
