Is our team's roster properly built?
I count 7 central defenders (Zapata, Bonucci, Romagnoli, Mussachio, Paletta, Gomez, Gabbia). I think 4 are more than enough.
Also, 5 full backs (Calabria, Antonelli, Abate, Rodriguez, Conti). No more than 4 are actually needed.
A team having players surplus to requirements doesn't work very good...

Could get rid of at least 1 or 2 center back, that I agree.

I mean, better to have a surplus than to lack players :p This is the beginning of a project to get Milan back as one of the best in Europe, so it will take time to get a well balanced squad. It looks pretty good so far though, I'm expecting for some of those players to be sold next transfer window or loaning out the younger ones.

7 cd means constant need for rotating, it means no chemistry between the cd, it means unhappy players due to lack of first team football and it means bad locker room atmosphere.
Your mighty Real ended last season using Ramos, Pepe and Varane (on occasion Nacho)...Only 4!!

@N'Tziou That ain't completely false, but theres nothing that can be done about right now. Hopefully, your manager will make his choice on who will be key, who will be backup and who will be surplus for next season. ;)

@Emobot7 absolutely right... Well, i hope they let Zapata and Paletta go in January... They're already 31 yo... Maybe, also, the 39 yo Storari... But of course, Montella will know by then...

Depth in squad is so important, more than just having a couple of super stars unless you have Messi or Ronaldo, and even then it's hard.

Milan is doing the right thing, like Emo said, they can get rid of some of the players and invest in the position that being lack off, but this is the start.
