5 reasons Lionel Messi is better than Cristiano Ronaldo.

  1.  Messi is part of a team. Football is a team sport, not
an individual effort. It may sound simple, but it is a fact
that is being overlooked, especially in ceremonies
like the Ballon d’Or, which hands an award to a single
player. Ronaldo might be an awesome freak of nature, but
like Zlatan Ibrahimovic would probably not fit in the
best team in the world, because unlike Messi he is not
    built to blend in.

  2.  Football is a game of teamwork, cohesion, of finding
the right balance between sacrificing one’s personal skill
and ambitions to the betterment of the team. Messi
understands that better than Ronaldon. It is because he
was formed to fit a structure, and not to be the ultimate
    action hero like the Portuguese.

  3.   Messi is a humble servant of a system that makes him
great. He knows he wouldn’t have become such a great
player without knowing exactly how Xavi likes to pass the
ball, and understanding exactly how Cesc Fabregas
and Andres Iniesta likes to receive the pass. Ronaldo will
never be able to form such partnerships, which are the
most important part of the game.

  4.  Ronaldo tends to get frustrated a lot during games. He
tends to show it too, and that adds pressure on his
teammates’ shoulders. Messi is less likely to show he is
cracking under pressure. He often reacts to near-misses
and misunderstandings with a smile. This trait makes
    him easier to play with.

  5.  Messi won more titles because he is a better teammate
than Ronaldo. The team makes him stronger as an
individual. It is what makes him the great player he
is. He understands that he might win games on his own, but
titles are won by the team.

@naman93..
i will use the same weak argument..
Rooney also is a part of his team,he also know how his teammates want to receive the ball or how they prefer to pass the ball..
Also Rooney keep his temper and not get influenced from the fans..
That means that he is better than Ronaldo?
I don't think so..
PS.Both these threads are Nice! you made a good effort..
Personally i Understood what are you trying to imply about these legends!

@andres: they both have their weaknesses and strengths ....................................... i think i couldnt write exactly what i wanted to convey but this should help a bit ::

Cristiano Ronaldo when asked about how he feels about his comparisons with Messi, once said in an Interview, " You cannot compare a Ferrari to a Porsche because they have different engines ".

This quote was an absolute answer  !!

Messi and Ronaldo can't be compared. Why there's someone who must compare them? Messi is unique, there aren't any player who is even close to his level... well you may compare him with Iniesta, they have a similar kind of play but their dribling is diferent and they do diferent work to do in the pitch.

About C.Ronaldo. He's a beast who's good at finishing. He's strong, fast, have good shoot but too previsible, he can't drible and he's very bad at playmaking. He doesn't defend or participate in the team's game. He just wait for a ball to finish it and convert in a goal (every team need a player like that in the team).

You can compare Ronaldo to Mario Gomez, Balotelli, Nani or other top strikers (of course he's better than them) but you can't compare him with Messi.
