I dont see why Qatar even got the world cup anyway, it was said that they may have to move the world cup shortly after they got the decision. I mean if you know that you have to move the world cup before giving them the decision then why give it to them, I honestly believe that England should have got it.
With all of the oil money that they have, they could just install mega-fans to cool the stadiums or something like that.
One important thing to note is that this completely screws over the schedules of European leagues, especially major ones. English teams have approximately 5-6 domestic games only in the month of December alone. This will have to be made up for later, as the World Cup is expected to be from late November to early January.
Winter transfer window will have to be shuffled. With nearly all players away on international duty, it will be confusing for managers of top teams around Europe.
Entire schedule will be shoved into June and maybe even July, giving players a pathetically small preseason to prepare for 2023-24, and the summer transfer window will be rushed. Very rushed.
Interesting thing I read. The African Cup of Nations is held every odd year to simply *not interfere with the *World Cup. Since the ACN is scheduled for February 2023 (a month after the World Cup), looks like it will have to be moved. Again.
Good job FIFA. You officially made 2023 a year of dread and despair.
we should just make a rule that no one is allowed to bring up the world cup in qatar... because it always ends in arguments...everyone is entitled to their opinion, so respect that
Fifa president Sepp Blatter had already said the tournament would take place in November or December, with organisers in Qatar still hopeful of hosting it in June and July.
He suggested it could take place between 15 November and 15 January.
There have been 19 World Cups to date but no World Cup finals match has ever been played outside of May, June or July.
If the World Cup does go ahead at the end of 2022, it could pose problems for the Africa Cup of Nations, which is scheduled for January 2023.
